Dangerous Doctor
by tangerine at Citysearch
If you are reading the negative reviews of Dr. Bosquez and are still bringing your child to see her, you are crazy. Our experience echos all of the other negative reviews from the misleading insurance practices to the medication mix-ups to the unprofessional office staff. I am reporting her to the Texas Medical Board next week. We are lucky our child wasn't seriously harmed by this incompetent and uncaring physician. RUN quickly away from this doc!!!
PS I also don't understand after writing some of these negative reviews, that those people would give her three stars. If there was a way to select "no stars," I would do it.
- Pros: We got in quickly (no wonder)
- Cons: incompetent and uncaring
Best doctor around town
by gracie1021 at Citysearch
I have been seeing Dr.Bosquez for three years, after I was over prescribed by another doctor.
My initial reaction was that she was very brash, and inflexable. After going to her for a few months, I found her just the opposite. She is excellent with medications, cut down my medications considerbly.
I have never felt better.
- Pros: knows what she is doing
- Cons: none
A Great Psychiatrist
by cc1147 at Citysearch
Dr. Bosquez is one of the most attentive, competent, and professional psychiatrists I have ever come in contact with. Her ability to actively listen to issues and customize a problem specific treatment regime is incomparable to any I have experienced. She makes me feel as if I am the only patient that she has. As a patient I feel that I can tell her anything without her taking offense and feeling insulted. If a medication is not ?agreeing? with me and side effects may be too extreme for me, I am very comfortable letting her know. Her humbleness allows her to change treatment regimes to fit MY needs while still being very effective in my treatment progression. She is a medical profession that really listens and cares. Dr. Bosquez is able to bring medicine and psychiatry down to my level, which is not common amongst medical professionals. A patient?s thorough understanding of their illness and treatment regime is an integral component of treatment success and being able to live a happy, healthy life. I highly recommend Dr. Bosquez to anyone looking for a great psychiatrist with a track record of success.
- Pros: Professional and Compassionate
Excellent for med management psychiatry
by MONSTERTIM at Citysearch
Excellent management of meds, knowledgeable about meds. She says "if you don't follow your doctors instructions then your treatment wont work" so if you can't handle the meds, tell her about it, she'll work with you to adjust them to make you comfortable. In my case she over a short period of time got me into a medicine regime that I truly feel better on and can tolerate easily.
- Pros: nice, professional service
- Cons: expect some wait
The Front Office needs Meds
by trucks at Citysearch
Dr. Bosquez is excellent and has helped my 5 year old daughter tremendously. However, the front office staff is very unprofessional and I can no longer take it. If you expect good customer service, please go elsewhere. Please know this....a prescription can take up to 3 days to fill and you will have to pay the office $10 for it. I really hope that Dr. Bosquez reads this and takes into consideration the running of the office. Dr. Bosquez thanks for helping my daughter.
- Pros: Excellent Dr.
- Cons: Office staff needs much improvement.
Dr. Bosquez has turned my life around
by lml02 at Citysearch
IMAGINE being a Psychiatrist, people blaming you & their lives OFTEN in your hands. I can't imagine the pressure, only for people to write such horrible things based on 1 situation. I have been seeing Dr. Bosquez for over 2 years she has ALWAYS listened to me & is clearly very well educated. It took MONTHS of carefully monitoring & managing my medication, exactly what you want your Psychiatrist to do when treating such serious situations as she does. Not once has she ever just thrown medication at me, she is knowledgeable & has educated me, turning my situation and life around. I'm truly grateful for her! I have referred 2 other family members & 1 friend to her, we ALL love her & in each situation she has carefully administered and closely monitored appropriate care & medication as needed. It's CLEAR to me she takes her profession serious. Patients with very serious illnesses are in her office every day, so of course there are going to be wait times, wouldn't you want to wait if it was your suicidal loved one. Image how hard it is to plan their schedule with people that suddenly need critical time and attention from her & then others show up late & expect to not reschedule. And MOST Psychiatrists charge you for refills on your meds, this is not just a family practice office, she's often writing prescriptions for controlled substances. And I know without a doubt my insurance pays her less than half of her office visit and she continues to see me and treat my condition for a scenario where an insurance company decides to cut the pay. Her staff, they are busy, ALWAYS busy, never goofing off. I have been to many other offices & clinics many times where I've waited much longer for a doctor & the staff is sometimes goofing off. Her staff, EVERY time I call for a refill, they call me back the SAME day, whether I leave a message or talk to them, same day, never fails, I get a return call. MUCH faster turn around time from many other doctor's offices, in my experience.
- Pros: She truly cares and is knowledgeable, and her staff is focused!
- Cons: The same as any other doctor's office!
Knowledgable, kind doctor -- Poor Office Staff
by flygirl0125 at Citysearch
I've been a patient of Dr. Bosquez's for a couple years, and really like her. In fact, I was surprised that some reviewers posted such negative comments about her. She was highly recommended to me by my favorite doctor.
The girls at the front desk, on the other hand, leave much to be desired. They are the reason I didn't give the practice a 5-star rating. They rarely answer the phone (9 out of 10 times maybe), don't return messages in a timely manner, don't give any kind of appt. reminder (i.e., phone calls, email, whatever) but have no problem charging for a missed appt., and just come across as rude (short answers, not accommodating or helpful). They just aren't what you would expect in a professional office--cute doesn't cut it!
One more thing about the front office experience that is really irritating. You walk in the office, and you are in the middle of the waiting room. The front desk is actally an opaque window in the wall. Seriously, you have to stand in front of the window, and hope that they can see you from the other side, because you sure as hell can't see what going on through the glass. C'mon, if you need the window, at least make it clear!
A couple more comments...
You actually have to PAY for a prescription if you don't have an appt. (even if the Dr. tells you to pick it up between appts.) $10 is not a lot, but I've never experienced this at other offices. Also, it can "take up to 72 hours to process a prescription request."
SO, if you are prepared to put up with the generally crappy customer service to see a great doctor, this is the place to go. Dr. Bosquez IS a great doctor, and in my opinion, definitely worth the headache.
- Pros: Great doctor
- Cons: Office staff, crappy waiting area, can't bring your kids
Lourdes Bosquez may have saved my life!
by thewoodlands at Citysearch
Lourdes Bosquez did for me in two weeks what two primary doctors, sleep doctors, ENT's, cardiologist, etc.... couldn't do for the last 7 years. I am so happy that I took control and made an appointment with a psychiatrist and picked her. She took the time to listen and diagnosed my condition with confidence and has since worked with me to modify medications. The entire experience in her office, from the cute and educated assistants check in to check out, is a pleasure. Thanks for making the Woodlands your Home!
- Pros: Great Office Location. Cute Staff :-)
- Cons: Normal doctor office wait time, but easy to get over if everything else is perfect.

Recently I had the opporunity to deal with this doctor. My first impression was that some of the past negative reviews might have been a bit harsh, so I continued to give her the benefit of a doubt. Now I have experienced some of what the other negative writers mentioned and do have to agree with some of the comments.
I do not have the credentials to rate her actual medical skills and she in fact might be very bright. HOWEVER, her practice is NOT run in the manner I am acustomed to with my other medical doctors!! This one seems disorganized and poorly run. The hours posted are NOT always the hours the office is open, they seldom answer phone and seem to screen calls by using voice mail. They claim they are not a PPO and then charge more than they are allowed to for services, but according to the insurance company, they ARE a PPO and have to follow the contract rates. Basically, she might be a fine doctor but her staff is lacking in proper office skills, which translates to the patients NOT being fully informed of when they need to return, no reminder calls or emails for appointments weeks int the future etc...
Additionally, there is at times, a serious and challenging communications gap or there is a listening problem on that side of the fence, I have yet to fully figure out which or if it is a combination of both.
She might suit some people and personalities well. I on the other hand do not suffer a poorly run operation or in being spoken to as if I am stupid, just because I am a patient very well!!!
SO in the end she is not for me, and I have chosen another doctor. Go in with your eyes wide open and make sure you check the fine details such as your insurance payment requirements, appointments etc!!!
- Pros: Few
- Cons: Poorly run office, communications problem since English is a second language, haughty at times.
Careless rather then careful.......
by jsangels at Citysearch
This doctor carelessly dispenses medication without regaurd for that person, or taking in to consideration the danger of prescribing medication without the proper info............
- Pros: none that I am aware of
- Cons: arrogence and late
