Facts
Learn about the park's wildlife rehabilitation program. The cypress ponds provide an important breeding and wintering habitat for many birds. There's a full-size reproduction of an entire Akokisa Indian village to consider, as well as the Redbud Hill pioneer homestead, a complete re-creation of an East Texas settler's home from the 1820s.
Features
This is an educational adventure and school tours are encouraged, as are church and scout groups. The Nature Center offers programs for all ages throughout the year. Recent events include canoeing on Spring Creek, a nature hike with Dad and a presentation on honeybees. For water lovers, there's a canoe launch, and fishing isn't bad.
