Beware...
by brehon at Citysearch
We have previously purchased TWO vehicles at Tejas over the 15 years we've dealt with them. We went back after 8 years with every expectation of another pleasant and satisfying experience.
Instead we had a NIGHTMARE.!!!! We dealt with one salesman who didn't seem to want to help us. We subsequently dealt with the internet sales person and he helpfully and courteously arranged a fair price and we agreed to buy the car. We even offered to make a deposit by credit card to hold the car for the 6 hours it would take us to get there. This was refused, saying they would save the car for us, no problem.
When we arrived, another manager had gotten another buyer to buy the car out from under us. We sat for hours waiting to see if we were going to get the car we had been promised.
We finally deduced that they were using us as leverage to get the other buyer to pay more. We sat isolated and very uncomfortable, and finally had to search through the building for a person, only to find that , "Oh, yes , the other people bought the car. We didn't have to honor our agreement to sell to you." It truly was a nightmare.
I'm sure God was looking out for us, because we wouldn't have wanted a further relationship if the dealership attitude has changed so radically. I just feel sorry for the other buyer.
Maybe this is not a common occurence, but I got very bad vibes.
- Pros: Was a wonderful dealership
- Cons: Isn't any more
Bad Managers

I called for a specific vehicle. I got an email that they have it in stock. We drove 50 miles one way just to find the other vehicle. The 6' 6" toll Manager came out from no where. When I told him that why you guys lie to lure customers on your lot, he got offended and told me that he sold that particular vehicle just a few hours ago. I said, it is highly co-incidental. He said, he did not lie. I asked him to show me the sale, if he is right. He declined and asked me to leave the parking lot and started shouting. HE WAS a lier, and he got caught.
Not only I will never go there, I recommand YOU NOT TO GO THERE! There are plenty of nicer Toyota Dealers out there.
Worst experience ever... NEVER will I recommend

To all readers and to TEJAS.
I was recommended to this dealership because of the price of a car, through a friend. Went there, bought it and later found out that it was a car which had at least 2 bumper accidents. The salesperson denied it at the time of sale and still does! The repairs were done so poorly and I noticed it because another friend pointed it out to me! I did notice the paint job at the time of sale but again the salemen denied it. When I took it back, the USED CAR sales manager was very rude and said, "It works well right?". That manager was so rude he got me SO upset (not exagerating). I have to buy tires now and do an alignment, get the bumper fixed properly and now I am thinking of a paint job or just traing my car to get a car I can be proud of... NEVER will I go there ever again. PLEASE do not go there. They did not stand behind their product and their attitude changed once the sale was made!
- Pros: Gave me donuts
- Cons: Rude used-car sales manager, liars and made customer very upset.
Loved my buying experience!

My husband and I bought our first Toyota from Tejas in 2004. Our sales man, Mr. Shepherd, was very helpful. There wasn't any pressure. And we've had regular follow-up phone calls and notes. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR VEHICLE! AND WE PLAN TO BE REPEAT CUSTOMERS!
- Pros: Friendly, Helpful
Awful Experience!!!

Do not deal with these people!! They were unprofessional with me...even the General Manager! They did not stand behind their product and their attitude changed once the sale was made! There are many Toyota Dealerships in Houston...don't get burned by this one!
- Pros: Ideal location
- Cons: Bad customer service
