I have been having my haircut and colored by Michelle for many years. She is an outstanding stylist and business woman. Her cuts are consistently excellent. She has watched my hair going gray over the years. Which I complain a lot about...Hair color is hard to get right as one is graying - and Michelle is a genius at keeping mine glowing and healthy. Plus I get to hang out in a lovely space with an interesting person. What more could you ask for? I know that when I go to Michelle that I will not only get what I want but I will get an up-to-date and fun style. NO MORE DOROTHY HAMILL WEDGE for me! The salon is very professional, chic, and has a great ambiance. The staff is very polite and helpful, decor is hip and cool. Thank you Michelle for taking care of me for all these years. You are so talented..
Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Products, great atmospher!
Cons: NONE

I recently moved to Houston about 7 months ago and was scared to go to a new stylist. A man I work with recommended Cut Loose. He said he and his wife have been going there for 10 years. I couldn't get in with Michelle so I made an appointment with Stephanie. She is not only beautiful she is a delight to be around. She has only giving me haircuts so I can only write a review about the haircuts. I have long thick hair and the cuts she gives me are easy for me to fix at home. She does a really good job. I also like the atmosphere and neighborhood. I can get a haircut and then grab a coffee right next door.

The "right" hair stylist is very dependent upon each individual. I've been going to Chad for over 2 and 1/2 years now. I haven't lived in Texas for about 2 of those years, but continue to make appointments with him when I frequently fly down. He takes his time making sure everything is just right. I always look great leaving the salon. He also helps me understand EXACTLY what I need to do at home to replicate the "just came from the salon" look. A great haircut makes a huge difference--that obviously comes with a price. Chad is worth every dollar.

I finally found a hair cutting that i can trust with my hair...Ashley is tha best EVER!! cant wait to go back :) Tha only bad thing was tha parking but i didnt mind parking by some of my favorite stores so after my cut i could go shopping...on the other note i highly recommend Ashley.

I get my hair done often and was surprised at the technique that the hairdresser chose. It turned out to not work, at all! I came for loose waves and left with clumped ringlets! Maybe other hairdressers have better techniques but I won't go back to find out.
Pros: grungy atmosphere, nice staff
Cons: no parking

I have been going to Cutloose for a little over 2 years now. Stephanie is my stylist. I am always getting compliments from people on my cut & color. Stephanie has colored my hair anywhere from platinum blonde to dark brown & it always looks great with no damage! She really listens to exactly what you want & talks to you about different options so there is a clear understanding before she even starts. The prices at Cutloose are in line with most higher end salons. You get what you pay for, if you want an experienced stylist and great end result it may cost you a little more, but it's worth it! The parking is not that big of an issue. There is a neighborhood directly across the street & behind the salon, you can find a spot on the street easily. I have never had to search for parking at any of my appointments. Go see Stephanie if you want a great stylist who will listen to you & take there time to give you a perfect cut & color. I have also met many of the other stylists there & everyone has always been friendly. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: experienced stylists, fun atmosphere
Cons: None

I was looking for something new and received a good recommendation to Cut Loose by a friend so I had my hair cut by Chad. He did a pretty good job and I was relatively pleased (it was way shorter than I had asked, but it looked pretty good). So when I couldn't get into my regular stylist for highlights and was totally desperate I made an appointment with Chad for highlights. I checked the prices on the website and Partial Highlights are listed for $65+ and Full for $85+. Since I already had a great colorist I only needed partial highlights just to get through the weekend. So I had the highlights done and wasn't wowed but thought they looked OK but who can tell in the bright lights.. I went to pay and was told it was $135. I asked for what, I thought it was $65. The receptionist said the highlights were $100 and the BLOWDRY was $35. I paid but was confused and mad. Then when I returned home I discovered that the highlights were barely noticeable. It didn't look as if I had had anything done at all. My hair is short -- a little below my my chin, there is no reason for them to have jacked up the highlights to $100 from the normal $65. And who charges for blowdry? That is absurd. How in the world would the stylist be able to tell if the highlights processed correctly without blowdrying the hair? Needless to say I will NEVER GO BACK. I was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED! Cut Looses should reconsider the blowdry charge and Chad should work on his highlighting technique. (I processed for almost an hour and my hair is naturally blonde). And there is absolutely NO PARKING. Good luck finding a place to park on Westheimer and Montrose.
Cons: Overpriced, stylists, parking

No parking and lack of empathy re: this by staff. I'll never return because I never felt welcomed. Too many great places in Houston to waste time driving around for parking.

A friend suggested that I go to Cut Loose to get some highlights and I LOVE THEM! Terry did a great job on my color and Ive been getting compliments on it everyday since!! I would definitely recommend this salon.

I recently read a very ugly and untrue review. I have been going to Chad for 6 months after being refered by 3 different people, and he is wonderful! My hair has not looked this good in ten years after my favorite hairstylist moved. He is always very nice, fun, and professional. He also does my fiance and his new haircut is the best I have ever seen on him.
