Best jeweler in town
by CourtneySC at Citysearch
I read reviews on CitySearch all the time, but have never been compelled to write a review..until now! My fiance and I bought a custom engagement ring from Reiners and were absolutely blown away with their customer service, professionalism, and the quality of our ring.
We visited several big (well-known) jewelers around Houston, and while we found beautiful displays of popular jewelry lines (Tacori, Ritani, etc), nothing in any of them made us stay longer than a few minutes. We knew we wanted to create a custom-designed ring, and the moment we walked into Reiners and began talking with Steven, we knew we'd found the right place.
We were able to draw and design our ring down to the very last detail, and the Reiners designer created a very detailed "wax" version of it that we were able to come look at - to make sure the ring/design was exactly how we wanted it (before production.) When the finished product was ready, we were blown away with the quality, craftsmanship, and beauty of the ring. It was EXACTLY what we designed, and knowing there wasn't another ring like it anywhere was such a cool feeling.
I would recommend Reiners to anyone, and hope that this review sends you their way. You will not be disappointed!
- Pros: Personal attention, amazing quality of work
- Cons: None
Excellent selection and service

We are so pleased to find a jewelry store like Reiners in Texas. They are so professional and friendly. They are able to accomodate your wants and needs for any type of jewelry and diamonds you are looking for. We gladly drive 3 hours from home to shop here. We know we are guarenteed quality and the service of people that go above and beyond to find or make the perfect piece of jewelry.
- Pros: Best selection of diamonds and custom jewelry
Rip Off on Service
by jamscott at Citysearch
I bent a prong on my diamond setting but was new to Houston and didn't know where to take my ring. So I checked out places on line, saw Reiner's had good ratings and a convenient location, so I went to them first. They were very friendly and knowledgeable, but quoted me $200 to fix my ring and that I'd have to leave it overnight. I believe they were including re-rodium fees in that, since my band is white gold, but I still thought it sounded very high. So i walked away and went to another place, Galaxie jewelers, who fixed my ring right there on the spot for free and cleaned my ring to where it looked brand new. They said my ring had no need to be re-rodiumed yet, that it just needed a thorough cleaning. I'm so glad I didn't just leave me ring at Reiner's. They may be a good place to buy, I wouldn't know, but from being almost ripped off $200 bucks, I'll never go here again or send anyone I know to them. BEWARE!
- Pros: AGA certified, friendly
- Cons: over charge for service
Great Service and a Quality Product

I visited Reiner's based on a suggestion from a friend. I was helped by Steven Reiner who helped me find an engagement ring and I was very happy with the results. After finding the band that I like the most he showed me several diamonds of differing sizes and qualities that I could select from and put them together at a competitive price. Also, it was the only place that offered the corresponding GIA certificate. After visiting a handful of other jewelry stores, this one stands out to me.
- Pros: Service, selection and family shop feel
Rude Service
by chdeal27 at Citysearch
My fiance and I walked into the jewelry store, walked up to the counter and were greeted by an older man behind the counter. I told him what we were looking for and we followed him to a part of the store where he could show us some diamonds. He thumbed through some similar diamonds since he did not have the exact diamond we were looking for. When I told him the carat we were looking for he said smugly , "that won't look like anything on a ring." He did not even show us anything yet and he basically told us that our choice was a bad one. There was no where to go from there. I can only assume that he was the owner or manager because he could afford to be so abrupt and rude. Or business is so good that they can turn away business.
- Pros: Seem to have a good reputation
- Cons: Rude Service
Old fashion service and quality with traditional and modern jewelry.

My fiance suggested that I start looking for a engagement ring style that I loved. I visited all the "big boys" store in the Houston area. My daughter's fiance highly recommended Reiner's to me. He had bought my daughter's stunning ring from Reiner's. My daughter and I visited their store and we were thrilled with the quality of their diamonds and jewelry! Steven Reiner assisted us and taught me the differences in the cut and quality of the stones. He was very patient and professional allowing me all the time that I needed to make a selection. We purchased a fabulous solitare that everyone... sales clerks, bankers, doctors, etc...... notice and ask for the Reiner's address and telephone number. Our family has found the one and only jewelry store for us. I sing their praises to everyone! Run, don't walk, to Reiner's for all your fine jewelry needs!
- Pros: Professional gematologists, excellent service, incredible jewelry.
- Cons: Absolutely none!
Beautiful diamonds, superb service

My fiance and I visited Reiner's 2 weeks ago to look at rings. It was one of two stores we visited, and we picked Reiner's because the staff is highly professional, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and patient. We looked at a variety of settings and diamonds until we found the perfect ring. There is no "sales pressure", and the staff wants you to be completely happy with your purchase. Our ring was made on site, ready in less than a week and includes a great stone at a great price. The Reiner's are committed to customer satisfaction, and they are my jeweler of choice from now on.
- Pros: Variety/selection, Professional staff, Great Value
- Cons: None
Perfect for Engagement Rings and Bridal jewelry!!
by econgrad at Citysearch
I recently moved from Manhattan with my boyfriend. He suggested we start looking at engagement rings. I visited almost all of the jewelers in Houston and simply could not find anything. I entered Reiner's Jeweler on Westheimer and immediately was accomodated by Irv. His father started the store over 60 years ago and there is a reason they have been in business that long! Irv created the most beautiful amazing CUSTOM engagement ring a girl could ever want. I am so impressed that I had to write a review, which I normally do not do!!! Go see Irv and get the engagement ring of your dreams for a reasonable price and excellent service you wont find anywhere else.
- Pros: Bridal Jewelry, Excellent Service, Reasonable prices
- Cons: NONE!!!!
One of Houston's oldest recognized jewelers for 55 years knows their diamonds.

Propositional Phrases
Reiner's Fine Jewelry store is a member of the Accredited Gemologist Association and with graduate gemologists on staff, this jeweler specializes in diamonds and diamond creations. As any professional jeweler goes over the principals of diamond buying, the customer should know that every stone is judged by the 4 "C"s--cut, color, clarity and caret weight.
Behind the Glass
In business since 1918, Reiner's can also update and enhance original stones in new settings on premises. Catering to uniqueness, colored gemstones are a specialty at the retail family-owned store as well as custom designs, estate pieces, repairs and appraisals.
