Come and Wait for It.
by marymorr at Citysearch
Star Pizza's refusal to take reservations for large groups is infurating. Waiting time can be up to 30 minutes to an hour. They don't care.
They do have a good product their pizza is stupendous. However their come and wait for it policy will make me think again before I approach this restaurant with a group. This come and wait for it attitude spills over to the wait staff as well.
- Pros: Good Pizza
- Cons: Slow Seating

Good for normal pizza.

I didn't really see anything impressive about this place. I thought the pizza was small and pretty much overpriced. It was nice, however, to see it served in a pan for each person, but I wouldn't recommend this place over other pizzerias.
- Cons: crowded
wrong crust

Excellent toppings but crust needs to be chewy.
Roasted garlic and Greek salad best of there food
Pizza has no pizzazz

I wasn't impressed. I would have liked more herbs in the sauce and a thinner crust.
so over-rated

Nothing special. Houston just lacks more than a couple of good pizza places so folks think this one is great. If you have pizza leftover you should box it yourself and use foil. They lumped 10 pieces of mine into one small box. It was a giant singular piece of unedible pizza the next morning. If you want good pizza head out to Napoli's in the burbs.
Star Pizza is ok

maybe i got there on a bad night. The environment is great, but the last time i ate there the cheese pizza (no other topping) was soggy (unforgivable sin) and tasteless. i like the dinner salad with the outstanding red pepper vinagrette dressing. the wait staff was great and there's lots of colorful patrons there. Parking can be a problem - i suspect people are parking across the street. Word to Star - thin crust pizza should be not flop over - it should stand up by itself. the bottom of the crust can look black. and don't waste any more bread there. sell appetizers instead.
- Pros: Clean, Colorful, Location
- Cons: Parking, Pizza

Great food, but the place is getting run down and needs some fixing up. We sat upstairs, it was hot, I think the air con was out and the lights were going on and off. Some people got up and either left or moved down stairs
- Cons: hot, run down
