Used to be good, now it is just weird.

My fiance and I used to love Star Pizza. We would order delivery at least once a week. For some reason we tapered off last year, and for the first time in many many months we ordered it again last night. After ordering, it took about an hour to get here. Upon opening it up, we realize they left off one of the main ingredients, and it was cold and hard to boot!
We called them and told the man that answered that our Margherita pizza had no basil on it. He offered to make us a new one (yay!) or send us some basil (um, what?). We opted for them to make us a new one, but then he said he would be taking the old one back with him!
I absolutely cannot believe a pizza place would deliver an incorrect, cold pizza, and then want it back, and tell us not to eat anymore!! What were they going to do with it? That is so far beyond sanitary that it made me never, ever want to eat there again.
If they wanted to make doubly-sure we didnt get a pizza free, then I honestly find that offensive. I refuse to even fathom them wanting it to re-sell, as slices or something.
The pizza we finally got (AN HOUR LATER--making us wait over TWO HOURS for the correct pizza!!) was pretty good, but it was tainted by the bitterness of disappointment and disbelief.
Go sit in the restaurant. Dont order delivery. Its not worth it.
- Pros: If you get a hot one made correctly, its awesome.
- Cons: Really crappy service, apathetic employees.
Poor taste makes for Bad Pizza

Not sure why people always rank this place high for Pizza. I have visited almost every place in town and it always ranks at the bottom of my list. The quality of toppings is decent, but the flavor and texture of the pie has been horrible for years. Not to mention the restaurant looks like a run down beach house inside and out. I have yet to enjoy a pizza from this place out of the numerous times of eating there with friends. A great place to converse and meet, but the chain stores have better product IMHO.
- Pros: Toppings, Selection
- Cons: Food quality, overcrowded, ambience
Service and food is going way down hill.

It really pains me to write this, as I have been a star fanatic for years. However, my satisfaction with both the food and service has been downgraded significantly. My order has been incorrect six of the last eight times. Pizza's served/delivered cold. Or not even cooked all the way through. Long waits when calling for takeout. Delivery taking two plus hours, without a phone call from them as to why. And if you live in an apartment complex-GET READY-the delivery drivers don't like them and will tell you without any shame or diplomacy. Why? "its too frou-frou." Management, please do something, because there are other places that are willing to cook a great pie without the lip, anguish, and attitude. And the pie is hot, without commentary, and without judgement.
You call this pizza?

Star Pizza piles on the toppings so heavy you can hardly find the soggy crust beneath. Houston needs a real Pizza place and this isn't it!
