I'm confused!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that margarita's were made with tequila.... not at adobe! It tastes like they use wine or something else. Attn bartenders, cheap liquor is for your own parties at home, not at the place where you get paid! The food is similar to Taco Bell! YUK!!!! ADOBE, you keep changing the menu and prices, but fail to keep up with authenticity for sure!

maybe i was in the wrong

This restaurant has always intrigued me evertime I would ride past this joint but after several visits I was not impressed the waitstaff had me wait over an hour before they would come to me I would have to waive down staff members to order.maybe I was in the wrong maybe if you chose to sit on patio you are not entitled to good service well whatever the reason I will not be going to cafe adobe for a long time.

not so mexican food, average service high price

We read that cafe adobe had the best mex in houston...dont know who wrote that up, but they must have never had mexican food. we went for an early dinner, upon the referral of friend & were sorely disappointed. Our waiter was friendly but a bubble head. He asked us what we wanted and brought some of the drinks incorrect. We asked for 2 appetizers - brought us one and forgot the other. We asked for fajita quesadilla - got groundbeef, told him to leave the sides while he changed it out, but he took it and it took 10 minutes and a reminder for him to ring back the fixed dish. He brought it without sides. We never got refills until we had to ask another waiter. We asked for pickled jalapenos, got fresh. We asked about the other appetizer, and he said oh, do you still want that. We should have said no since we were 1/2 way done wth dinner, but we didnt. I guess the kitchen had made it, but he didnt bring it on time, becasue it was cold. He brought us the billand wewerent even finished eating & he didnt even ask if we wanted anything more. Needless to sayit was just a badexperiance & we wont go back again.

fake mexican food!!!!

This is the place were the phrase "plastic mexican food was originated" too many good authentic mexican food in houston example: The Original Ninfas on Navagation... cafe adobe is too expensive for the quatity of the food and atmosphere. The amount of vehicles is deceving. The bilboards on the freeway are deceving as well. Who is doing the voting the employees?

Bad venue for large parties!

I booked the private dining room upstairs for a party. I was told that they could do tables for 4.

When I got there a few hours before the party to check everything out, they had the room set with 8 tops. I told them that they promised 4 tops. They said the could do it. But when I got the bill at the end of the night, they charged me $250 to change the tables out! This was NEVER discussed! And they refused to credit my card.

I think this is a pretty bad way to do business! Be warned!!!!!

Velveeta and Grease

This restaurant was recommended as the TexMex venue of a local chef, so my fiancee and I decided we'd try it out. The customer service was fine and the open greenhouse room was nice, but the food was terrible. I ordered shrimp nachos and asked the waiter to add fish for a seafood nachos-type dish. I expected a pile of chips topped with beans, seafood and cheese. What I got was a dozen individual chips with a single shrimp and some pieces of fish on each, buried in a veritable pound of greasy, runny cheese. My fiancee had a carne asada burrito, which seemed pretty straightforward. Actually, the burrito was merely steak in a flour tortilla covered in a ballpark nacho-style cheese spread (e.g. Velveeta). It was a waste of a meal and we will never return to this place.

food is good and the margaritas are great. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend. I love the margaritas but be careful about how many you drink. You might accidently drunk dial someone.

CAFE ABODE IS UNSANITARY!! IT HAS RODENTS!!!!

I actually saw a live rodent at this Cafe Abobe!! YES PEOPLE A RODENT!! Ran out of the kitchen into the dining area. the servers and the bartenders did assure me that there are these rodents in this restaurant. !!! NEVER AGAIN!!! I was disgusted!!!

It is the best mexican restaurant in the United States. I know evathegr8, degreework, jflo956, eventer3, joseaquirre, rustytng, chicaboo, localopez, johnsutherland, mamadog53, velvetspel, torreon99, ZLORLW, houstonian2000, longhornbabe95, mdelrio, houstonhorsey, and BWYATT are all wrong about it.I highly reccomend the steak nachos and the steak tacos. If you think it S---s, well, you're wrong. Eat there and eat in heaven. By that I mean Cafe Adobe is heaven.
