Fun and good location

Had a nice time there but the food wasnt that great. I would go there again because of the location and its just a nice little place near my home.

The food has not met my expectations lately

This is such an interesting place. If you want a fun place to take a date that is not too knowledgeable about the city then you should go here. It's hidden, it's dorky and it's fun.

The food used to be pretty amazing here. The last couple of times i have gone I've been pretty disappointed. I would suggest sticking to the burgers and sandwiches. I've had other things but those are their solid items. Pretty creative ways of pairing flavors too.

Seating inside is a bit cramped and sitting outside in Houston is not great for a place that doesn't get a good enough breeze. Parking is also tight, considering the lot is small and the side street is usually packed on a Friday or Saturday night. If you go during the week, you have an opportunity to get great parking.

All in all i think this place is worth a visit for anyone who has never been. You just may be disappointed in some of the food.

Easygoing with good service

First, my friend and I didn't like our sandwiches at all. He got an avocado (Gandalf) sandwich which looked like it contained about 5 avocados and a tiny little bit of bread, while I got the Thorin Oakenfield tabouli sandwich which was not so tasty. I also got the "default" side of shredded carrots, and let's just say forget healthy! I'll get the chips next time. With that aside, I still enjoyed my meal mostly because of the service and ambience. The servers are really cool and helpful, and the actual restaurant can be described as easygoing and comfy. This is definitely a place I'd go to again if I just wanted a place to relax wtih a friend. Though I dissed the food earlier, I think that this place has better food than that and my friend and I just chose the wrong dishes.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere

The Jamaican chicken is great, out of this world hamburgers. Not to mention the nice selection of micro brewed beers and wines. We live about 30 miles north of the Hobbit Cafe and make regular trips downtown for the food.
