great chicken panang

by houstongirl1010 at Citysearch

we went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, they had tons of people coming in and out so i knew it was a popular place.

i enjoyed their vegetable spring rolls and chicken panang, very very tasty. though their vegetable pud thai was tasteless, needed much more of a kick. their menu had a lot of variety and everything was affordable.

our waiter was so friendly and perky, we liked that he took care of us and stopped by to see if we needed anything.

  • Pros: extremely friendly waiter
  • Cons: pudh thai kinda bland

You can't get Thai this good anywhere else!

by ClaireGreene at Citysearch

I came to Thai Pepper a couple of years back with a boyfriend at the time, and since then it's been a constant in my life (the boyfriend I could do without-tehe). I promise you won't be able to find the same cheese rolls, drunken noodles, or homemade coconut ice cream anywhere else in Houston. Go there, and since I'm salivating as I type, I think I'm about to make another trip.

  • Pros: Mouthwatering food and desserts, attentive waiters

A little disappointed

by chuebinger at Citysearch

My girlfriend and I really wanted thai that wasn't a chain so I researched here on Citysearch and picked Thai Pepper to try since all the reviews were so good. Both of us were a bit disappointed. My basil chicken sauce was very soupy. Her pad thai was pretty good but my husband wasn't impressed with the order I brought him home. We also asked the waiter to split our check and he told us he would do it only because he wasn't busy. I have never understood restaurants that don't do this when so many people go out to dinner as friends... especially in Houston! I probably won't be returning to this place.

  • Pros: Good pad thai
  • Cons: Parking

A true connoisseur gives THUMBS UP!

by KristinDenise1983 at Citysearch

I am quite picky when it comes to restaurant fare because cooking is something I truly enjoy... But of course, I also love to go out to eat! Thai Pepper is one of my top choices, and certainly the best

Thai in this city without doubt. I was introduced by a friend and now I am addicted! I have been coming for several years, and I am still captivated by the artistic style of decorating you notice from the moment you step through the door. The food is amazing, the waiters and waitresses kind, and everything about this restaurant is true to Thai culture! That is what impresses me so very much because it is hard to find quality anymore in any restaurant. Anytime I have company from out of town I bring them here with pride and even a year later they remember what they had to eat and want to order it again! I would recommend anything on the menu as every option I've ever had is superb. There are so many nice, subtle touches to the food, drink, even the service. It truly creates a unique dining experience. The waitstaff is very kind and attentive and the atmosphere is wonderfully inviting. You're never left wondering where the waiter went but they are very careful to give you plenty of time and let you relax. This is a wonderful place for a date, a small group gathering, or simply just when you are hungry for great food! I guarantee you will leave every time feeling satisfied and impressed.

  • Pros: everything about Thai Pepper is a pro
  • Cons: none

Best Thai in Houston area!

by Love2Eat05 at Citysearch

I have always been interested in different types of food but ever since I discovered this restaurant, thai food has become my favorite! Thai Pepper has never let me down in the slightest. I love introducing this restaurant to other people because they are always so impressed. It is our tradition now to always come here on my birthday (along with many other days of the year!). The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, the waitstaff is kind and patient, and the food is hot and delicious. That it what you want when you go out to eat! This is the best thai restaurant in town hands down and I just can't say enough about it. I honestly get cravings for it. There are so many reasons why you need to try this restaurant- I promise you won't be sorry!

  • Pros: great food and waitstaff!

They can get it very wrong!

by sopretty2 at Citysearch

I ordered food to go last night. The food is usually very good, but last night they got it very very wrong. The chicken curry was simply inedible. It was so so hot we could not eat it. Called the restaurant today to tell them and I was told "There is nothing I can do. You should have called yesterday evening and taken the food back and we would have re-cooked it for you". Not good enough. I was meerly calling to say we were disappointed. I just found the attitude on the phone today in bad taste.

Perhaps next time....

  • Pros: Usually good food.
  • Cons: Parking can be a problem

We love Poki

by oceanu at Citysearch

Their food is great, I have tried alot of different Thai places and it doesn't compare to Thai Pepper. Also Poki the server is amazing, he knows what my cousins and I want with out saying anything. He pays attention to little details and that's what keeps us coming back again and again.

  • Pros: Food and Poki
  • Cons: parking, however there is some across the street.

best home made ice cream

by nightshift30 at Citysearch

Visiting from Austin for the weekend and always on the look for independently owned, local joints. The Thai Pepper... "definitely made us hot"! The lime beef salad was tasty and the coconut ice cream and fried bananas were a complimentary way to end a HOT meal. The wait staff were courteous and generous. Just the right amount of attention. Will definitely return on our next visit.

  • Pros: wait staff, coconut ice cream
  • Cons: parking

Delicious!

by deledwin at Citysearch

This restaurant will amaze you from the time you step through the door and you will leave feeling very satisfied. The food is authentic and delicious and we always have a good time. We go several times a month . Anytime we have friends or family in from out of town we say, "We have to take you to Thai Pepper!" and they are always impressed. We have tried a lot of restaurants and have very few favorites- This is one the favorites! Enjoy!
