HUGE FAN!!
by mao123
The WFM on Kirby drive really is a destination- this isn't just about grocery shopping.
Fun, great energy, smart employees
Take your friends and family that visit from out of town!
Must see!
- Pros: Great energy- best quality in town.
- Cons: parking can be a challenge at peak times
Unfortunately agree with previous review

I?m a fan of Whole Foods and I?ve been shopping WF for long time ? including the original DT Austin store. And I think their quality is holding steady. But unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviewer.
There are some really nice, polite people that work there. But it seems like a majority of the customer facing employees there now feel like it?s beneath them to say ?Yes Mam? and ?Thank you Mam?. It?s just simple courtesy - I do that with my clients. It seems like a grocery store clerk could use good manners and show some respect to customers that pay premium prices.
- Pros: Food Quality
- Cons: Service Courtesy
Rude, mean checkers.
by mirandajane8902
Absolutely the rudest checkers I've ever come across. In the past month, I have been: scolded by a checker for having a few too many items in the express lane (it was an honest mistake; there was no one in line behind me & I had already apologized to the checker); I have bought $120 worth of groceries from a checker who didn't say hello or thank you because she was too busy planning her evening with her friends; & today, as the final straw, the guy checking out my groceries said to the sacker "God, why do people always choose my checkstand? Can't they see that there other checkers who aren't busy?"
These Whole Foods/Kirby checkers are rude bordering on mean. Sometimes, it feels like I'm getting my groceries checked out at some brutal junior high. I think it's time for me to start shopping elsewhere.
Great place to shop.
by greenday4ever
This place has alot of variety of natural and wholesome food for your family. They give free samples of foods if you wish to try it. Really a good place to go.
ALways good.

Whole paycheck is always expensive but it is a good store both to shop in and to eat. Good choice for vegetarians too.
Granola meets glam at this River Oaks grocery store, making for a decidedly organic shopping experience.

In Short
This Austin upstart has sold natural foods in Houston for years, but this Whole Foods Market at Kirby and Alabama feels like a new world in shopping. Reasons to visit: food samples, wildflower bouquets grown locally, the chair-massage parlor at the end of the checkout line, and the deli section and seafood spread. You won't find brand-name commercial products here, but the store's 365 brand is a bargain.
Begging for more
by xanarae
I get excited walking into Whole Foods. Living almost 25 miles away, I make the trek to Whole Foods b/c I know I will get quality organic fruits, healthy snacks I'll never find anywhere else, and the best crunchy peanut butter I've ever laid lips on. I wish every grocery store was a Whole Foods. The service is great, they've got everything I could possibly ever need for snacking or entertaining. Service rocks, it's clean, creatively aesthetic, and leaves me wanting more, more more. What are the odds of Whole Foods buying out the Kroger close to me?
- Pros: QUALITY, Integrity, Atmosphere
- Cons: There's only one
Calling all healthnuts and macrobiotics!
by Daisychik6
Whole Foods rocks! Not only do they have everything you could (or couldn't) imagine in the way of natural foods and life products, they go out of their way to be genuinely helpful and kind. If you care about the earth, the future, your quality of life, your food, your health, your state of mind, or your body (and what else is there?) then you MUST give Whole Foods a try -- and become a diehard fan like me!!
- Pros: beautiful produce, friendly staff, bulk bins!!!
- Cons: some items expensive
