This charming plantation-style house is an ideal spot for a romantic wedding.
by Joshua Hinsdale at Citysearch
In Short
This 1920s plantation-style house is secluded on a 1.5-acre lot surrounded by majestic live oaks. Once part of a 13,000-acre ranch, the house was built by Samuel Allen, a descendant of the ranch's founding family. Wedding ceremonies are held in the garden or pavilion and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The home's four suites are available for wedding parties only and feature antique furnishings, TV-VCR combos, private phone lines, microwaves, refrigerators and coffeemakers.
Romantic Honeymoon
by mariannt at Citysearch
My husband and I spent three nights of our honeymoon in the Carriage House. It was romantic and beautiful. The room had a full size kitchen, TV with VCR, Stereo and a nice two person bath tub with jets. Each day we enjoyed gourmet breakfast in bed which was a nice treat for the both of us. During the day, we took quick trips to Kemah, downtown, and Galveston to see all the sights. Overall my husband and I were so very pleased with the service provided to us during our special week together. Thank you so much Maria, Phil and Sonia for a great stay.
- Pros: Cozy, Romantic, Beautiful grounds

my husband and i married at hidden oaks, then stayed there that night. breakfast was even made just for us in the morning! they really personalized everything. hidden oaks took care of everything - the tables, the tents, the food, just everything! we enjoyed the service and stay so much, we would like to stay there in the future for our anniversaries.

On more than one occasion I have been blessed enough to attend retreats at Hidden Oaks. It's like being in a whole different world. The atmosphere makes it hard to believe that you are in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world! I am looking forward to many more relaxing events at Hidden Oaks!
- Pros: great food, very friendly innkeep, beautiful environment
- Cons: you can't move in
Service Extraordinaire!

I booked a birthday tea party for my 9 yr old and Maria, the owner, went well out of her way to make it a special and memorable day! She gave ideas, took very good care of us at every turn! We spent one night in the beautiful and caringly decorated Rose room and thoroughly enjoyed every moment and every aspect of the lovely grounds and house!
- Pros: Good parking, beautiful decor
Exquisitely Romantic!

This most elegant, classy plantation house holds warm memories of my wedding. I look back and remember the magical feeling I had as I walked down the stairs from the bedroom into the oak-filled lawn, to the garden I was to be married in. The sun shone brightly and the air smelled fresh, as if in another time. The service was great; the refreshments, and the overall ambiance fills me with joy as I recall this most special day in my life. It was wonderful!
Thank you, Maria & Phil, for making my dreams come true!
