Awesome food, great price, beautiful restaurant!!!

AMAZING! My wife and I have eaten at several Indian restaurants andhave even learned to cook Indian cuisine at home. This is BY FAR the best Indian food we've had. We stopped in for dinner while vacationing in the Galveston area and will definitely make many return visits. It was clean and beautifully decorated, and the service and attention we got was top rate. The food was amazing - everything we ordered - and the prices were less than we've paid at lesser restaurants. We all loved our dining experience here - even our 4 year old daughter - and we recommend Mogul to everyone.
- Pros: prices are good, food is out-of-this-world, great variety and flavor, beautiful atmosphere
BEST INDIAN FOOD IN TOWN! BEST PANEER!
by rpatel487 at Citysearch
This is by far THE best indian restaurant in all of houston. I've been to all the indian restaurants in houston except indika and this is the best! I just recently tried it and the palak paneer is sooooo good....soo creamy and delicious. The best paneer ever. Finally, a place that makes palak paneer very well. Everything else there was also good. The mango lassi was the best I've ever tried anywhere also! Just an overall great place. Nice atmosphere. I drove an hour to go and eat at this place because my boyfriend talks about it all the time and it was well worth the drive!
- Pros: GREAT PALAK PANEER, BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN HOUSTON
- Cons: NONE
Uncertain service but great food
by wokoran at Citysearch
The restaurant itself seemed a little dingy but it wasn't very busy, which was nice. My friends and I were able to sit in relative privacy in a quiet atmosphere with some nice Indian muzak. The food took some time to arrive at the table and the service was a little uncertain, by that I mean it was hard to tell whether or not we were understood by the waitresses and the owner. However, there were no extended periods of time without refills and everyone was polite. Best of all, the food was incredible and the patrons at the restaurant were hospitable in demeanor. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Great Food, Not Crowded, Private, Low-key
- Cons: Shady Service
The VERY Best!!

I LOVE this restaurant! I have been going 4ever!!! The owner is a delight, the food is AWESOME...when I am not traveling, it is not uncommon for me to eat there 2x-3x/week!
- Pros: lovely service, affordable, great food
More than curry and great in a hurry.

In Short
Set in a strip mall and surprisingly large once you step inside, Mogul is a popular spot for quick lunches and casual no-frills dinners. The lunch buffet offers a plethora of traditional Indian dishes, including chicken, lamb, seafood, rice and a variety of vegetables. Entrees include dishes from the tandoori oven, curry-spiced meats and grilled kabobs. A stage with a light and sound system is available for private parties and visiting belly dancers.
Great food and value

Some Indian students at UTMB recommended this restaurant to me claiming it was authentic and enjoyable. I love spicy food and found this restaurant to possess exquisite quality food and a calming ambiance. I was surprised to find the place in a strip-mall, but once inside the place looked and felt great. I thought the piano was a bit loud for my taste, but the setting was romantic and not as busy as other fine restaurants Ive been to. I had lamb-curry in brown gravy (Gosht Madras) and my date had chicken-curry (Murgh Madras). Both were excellent and very spicy. The creamed spinach (Saag Paneer) made the meal so get the platter instead of just the entree. The wait staff seemed attentive and helpful, and the prices were outstanding for the high quality of food served.
- Pros: food quality, value, ambiance
Good Indian food!

This place has great food. I've been a few times but never remember what I had or what to order, but the waitstaff is knowledgable and can help you order. I've liked everything I've had and they even made some dishes we wanted to try extra spicy for us. Highly recommend!
Good food, great service, good value.

I've eaten here for many years now. I have always found the service to be friendly and helpful. The buffet is a good value ($7.95), although it would be nice if there were more vegetarian curries (like maybe at least 1-2 more). The naans are not made with eggs, a relief for vegetarians. The saag paneer is pretty good, not heavy with onion and garlic like in most places; but it's not quite as good as the Cuisine of India or Taj Mahal saag paneer. The latter two restaurants make it with a creamier consistency while Mogul still leaves the spinach coarsely chopped. The ambience is nice, albeit somewhat ruined by the beer signs and bar in the corner.
- Pros: Ambience, Location, Food
- Cons: More veggie in buffet

Excellent Indian Food
by IEatOutEveryMeal at Citysearch
I just discovered this website, and was stunned at the high rating Don Paco's got compared to the Mogul. I've eaten at almost every restaurant on the Bay Area list. I've eaten at the Mogul regularly over 10 years and it has excellent Indian food whether you choose the variety provided by the lunch buffet or order from the menu. I agree with the person who said it's the best Indian restaurant in the area, and clearly better than the Taj Mahal (of today) and Cuisine of India. If you like Indian food you mustn't miss this one.
- Pros: good food, reasonable price, friendly
- Cons: sometimes iffy servic
