A good sports bar for a brew and some crawfish, even if you aren't a sports nut.

Epitome of Texas Goodness

Woodrow's is a great place to just go, drink some delicious drinks and eat some yummy barfood. Highly suggested, and worth checking out.
- Pros: Drink Specials, Food & Atmosphere
- Cons: Can't think of any
Great Place for a Friday Night!

I just moved into the area and this is just a really great friendly bar. I have no negative opinions about Woodrows, except their are too many tables!
- Pros: Awesome place
- Cons: Too many chairs and tables arranged funky
Great for Tiger Fans!!
by NewtoHouston711 at Citysearch
Love this place on LSU Gameday. However, I am finding that it is becoming more and more crowded with UT fans and they're starting to demand that the Tv's be turned to the UT games even though it is an LSU bar with LSU fans already sitting there. Other than that though I usually enjoy everything there.
- Pros: Good food and drinks, good value
- Cons: UT people trying to take over the only LSU bar in Houston

Good TImes, Good Food

Woodrows is a great place to go and unwind, the beer is cold, the food is hot, and there is most likly something of interest on the tvs. I have been frequenting Big Woodrow's for the Crawfish for as long as i can remember, and althought the priceing is average (at $4.99 a pound) the quality is not lacking! The other food on the menu is great as well, we always start off with an appatizer of fried pickels and gator, move on to the Crawfish, and finish every thing off by munching on some texas hushpuppies. The over all atmosphere is quite unique. Entertaining and friendly, If one ever has a problem the waitstaff or managers are willing to help in any way they can. The decore never ceses to amaze me, every time i walk in there is something new on the walls. (every thing from new specials and new neons to a dress and other random bits of clothing.) I would highly recomend going to Big Woodrows to any one who loves to have a good time, enjoy good food, and be around real good people.
- Pros: One of a Kind Atmosphere
Response to this Review - Beware of waitress, she'll tag extra money on your receipt
by Asem@n-ii.com at Citysearch
An effort to correct this situation has been made. The employee in question is no longer with Woodrow's and the customer has been compensated. This event is not an every day occurrence at Woodrow's and not acceptable. We want our customers to be happy and come back to enjoy our hospitality!!!
Beware of waitress, she'll tag extra money on your receipt

I would have given a rating of 4 stars because they did have amazing crawfish (even at $5 a pound), but I just checked my bank account and noticed the waitress tacked another $2 or $3 on my what my signed receipt shows. I spoke to my friend that was with me and she said the waitress did this to her also.
The waitress was very friendly and even sat at our table and ate crawfish after her shift was over so I was a little surpised to know she did this. Her name is "Leslee".
I'm going to speak to the manager later because this is unethical and I believe they should be aware of this.
- Pros: crawfish
- Cons: dishonest waitress
A good sports bar for a brew and some crawfish, even if you aren't a sports nut.

In Short
Big Woodrow's, as it's called, draws a business crowd during the week for happy hour, and a raucous bunch of students and college alumni on big game days. Within the bar's weathered boards and bayou-style exterior is an efficient operation that provides cold, affordable beer and some of the best Cajun bar food around. Along with sports on more than 30 televisions, Woodrow's adds live entertainment, karaoke on Thursdays and TV trivia into the mix without compromising its sports-bar status.
Great Deals All Week Long

Where else in Houston can you find cheap draft beer on an outside deck on a Saturday night or $3.50 Grey Goose or Crown Royal on a Friday night. My friends and I usually start here to pre-party before heading "out" but we rarely ever end up leaving the Woodrow's Deck. It may be a sports bar but quite a few attractive ladies show up here also. Even if you are not an LSU football fan, Saturday's in the fall when LSU is on, this is a site that you have got to check out....it is crazy. During the spring there is not a better place intown to eat crawfish at then Big Woodrow's deck. The attractive female wait staff are friendly unlike the girls at other snobby bars. If you arrive for happy hour, do not expect to leave till late
- Pros: The DECK, Cheap drinks, great specials
- Cons: Get here early on game days
Big 12 weekend
by sndgarcia at Citysearch
Went to Woodrow's Friday night before the Big 12 Championship with my family and was very impressed with the food and service. Members of our family ranged in age from 6 to 61 yrs old and we all had a good time. You definately get your moneys worth on the food. There sampler platter is more than enough to feed 2 people and still have leftovers. You do have to find the hostess though to be seated. She was not at front like most restaurants/sports bars. All in all I would come back for the experience again.
- Pros: Food , Service , Atmosphere
- Cons: Parking
