Great burger

I had passed by this place a million times and never stopped. A friend moved in nearby and told me the Buffalo burgers were great. So we went there. I was a little surprised at just how unconventional the place looked. I was more surprised by them nto having a deep fryer to make fries. The burger was great. The potato salad was great. The best thing about the place is the service. The guys behind the counter treat you so nicely. You can tell they are just overall nice people.

Someone earlier said it was not worth the money. That is not true. A burger costs a bit more than 3 bucks. A buffalo burger is 4. S you spend 50 cents more than you would at Jack in the Box, big deal. The place is worth it.

In Short
One wouldn't normally associate a little shack under the Westpark Tollway with hordes of devoted restaurant regulars. But this is Bubba's, where the staff is friendly, the Saint Arnold ice-cold and the burgers are buffalo. The menu is mainly burgers (buffalo meat even leaner than turkey) in addition to chili and a must-try jalapeno potato salad. There are a handful of tables in the patriotically decorated restaurant, but opt to sit on a picnic table out front.

good but not for the price

it was a good hamburger, very greasy and meat a little over cooked but not bad, also NOT great, especially for the price you would think it was gourmet by how much they charge, and how the hell can you have burgers with out fries!!!??? the one thing i did love was their jalapeno potato salad, excellent

Okay, I will admit we were a little freaked out when Grandpa pulled up to this place that got such a wonderful review in the newspaper, oh the greatest burger in town, to find pretty much- a shack. Once inside and the food coming we were all eased and the food was wonderful... no fries though! Grandpa takes up for them "There's not room in there to cook fries!!". Either way, the burger makes up for it, I didn't have a buffalo burger, but Grandpa and Grandma said they were excellent. A very great place with quite a personal atmosphere

Yes this is a romantic location for those that appreciate life to it's fullest. You gotta have a good love of life to see the romance of the place. I had one of my best dates ever at Bubba's. No I would not say it's good for children. People don't watch their kids and it's close to dangerous traffic. At any moment someone could run off the road. And the building is cramped...ok for kids if the food is take out.

The Ultimate Hole-in-the-Wall

No doubt the best burgers in town. It may look a little scary when you drive by it but that is the draw for this Westpark landmark. The service is friendly, the food is made when you order it and the beer is cheap. The Double Buffalo Cheeseburger is to die for.

Bubba's Buffalo Burgers are Best !

Bubba's has been serving "Buffalo" (100% American Bison) longer than anywhere else in Houston... and it shows by the top quality of their buffalo burgers, chili, etc. Bubba's history defines it as a true "Texas-Icehouse" and it's friendly, down-home atmosphere reflects that. Despite it's small size, Bubba's has a vast selection of soft-drink refreshments and the list of beers they offer include most of those brewed by a local Houston micro-brewery named after a 6th-century patron Saint of brewers, named Arnold (but I can't tell you the name ... hint, hint). In fact, Bubba's sells more of this brewery's beer by the bottle than anywhere else (according to the brewer)... and they sell it at the lowest price you'll find anywhere. Only a customer ... I live about 40 minutes away ... but I eat at Bubba's regularly... and help keep their bushes sculpted to look like buffalo! Totally cosmic!

Great Burgers

Excellent food, good atmosphere, great staff. They sure know how to make people feel at home here. I never had a buffalo burger until I tried Bubba's, and it was awesome. They definently have me as a customer for years to come

What a funky spot! Some of the healthiest food going! Buffalo steaks, chili, and burgers, plus homemade low cal slaw! They need more of these around town for us health nuts on the west side!!!
