Had LOTS of Fun on Saturday Night
by msbusinesswoman
Some friends and I went this past saturday night (8/23/08) after a birthday dinner and had a GREAT time.
Loved that it is secluded in the omni hotel and had that best kept secret feel. The dance floor is huge and there were tons of people dancing. We really got our dance on. The DJ was wonderful and played a good mix of music. The cubbies (seating) looked comfy and romantic but were all reserved for different parties, but we found some bar stools along side the dance floor and it was a good spot to be.
Drink prices are decent about $6 for a cranberry and vodka...and VERY STRONG...so that was a good point for us :-)
I know I will definitely be back here on a saturday and maybe even just a during the week happy hour.
Oh...did I meantion that I am a VERY picky person....so that means this place is the BEST! I know sometimes it is hard to tell if a review is from a real person....so this is 100% real
- Pros: great dance floor, romantic, secluded, good business people crowd
- Cons: a lot of reserved seating, but shoot you will want to dance NOT sit!
The elegant decor, top-notch service and expansive grounds make this upscale Post Oak area one of Houston's finest.

The Scene
This highly rated, high-rise luxury hotel is located in the fashionable Post Oak/Galleria district, on well-kept grounds just minutes from downtown. You won't find many places in Houston, if any, with more attractive accommodations. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you will notice elegant appointments, lush vegetation, a skylight and Asian accents.
The Details
With views of the pool and city skyline, guest rooms and suites offer a range of above-standard amenities, from plush terry cloth robes and fully stocked refreshment centers to marble bathrooms, pullout sofas and large garden tubs. Proving that luxury isn't all a guest needs and that innovation can be liberating, the hotel also offers Get Fit Guest Rooms, equipped with a portable treadmill, Get Fit Kit and health snacks.
Locals and Omni Hotel guests stop by for a relaxing happy hour lounge scene or the late-night DJ-dancing scene.

In Short
The bar in the Omni Hotel's signature black marble swans welcome guests at the entrance, while a fireplace adds cozy comfort. Warm walls, sconces, wood flooring and a long dark granite and copper bar backlit with subtle green LED lighting lend a decidedly upscale vibe to the modern bar. Popular bites from the bar menu include jumbo shrimp cocktail, chicken quesadillas and New York strip sandwich. The martini menu includes 16 varieties, including the signature Melonaid, with Bacardi Melon vodka and lemonade.
FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL and WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY!!

AWESOME!!! Omni Houston is FANTASTIC!!! We have stayed ay NUMEROUS Houston hotels and the OMNI beats them ALL, hands down!! Not only the OMNI in Houston but we have stayed at The Omni Berkshire Place in New York and The Omni Severin in Indianapolis...and ALL Omni Hotels are WONDERFUL!! From cleanliness to friendliness...the staff will treat you like royalty! Make sure if you are staying at the Omni you join the "select guest" program for FREE..you can even join online before you ever even stay ay The Omni...They will give you a room service card at check-in and it is for FREE morning beverage service!!! FREE beverages of your choice brought to your room by room-service at the morning time of your choice!!! You can also have express check-in and the more you stay the more perks you get...The Omni Houston is a little pricey but WELL WORTH it!!! In the spring and summer the hotel has specials for the weekend so go online and look for yourself!!! Can't beat $129 plus tax per night which INCLUDES breakfast for 2 downstairs and the breakfast is GREAT!!! AND don't forget the FREE beverage service by room service IF you sign up for "select guest program" which is ALSO FREE!!! The outdoor pools (one heated/one not heated) are GORGEOUS as is the ENTIRE outside setting and inside lobby and restaurants!! Noe' is the restaurant with CHEF ROBERT GADSBY and the 6 course "tasting" menu is DELICIOUS!!! If you try the Omni just ONE time you will be hooked!! I ALWAYS recommend the Omni to everyone I know!
- Pros: BEAUTIFUL rooms, pool, lobby, restaurants! FANTASTIC staff!!!
- Cons: NONE!!!
Great Hotel at a great price
by gibs1296
We usually stay at the Houstonian down the street, but the Omni had a better price for 3 nights. We hung out by the pool, had lunch and then had drinks at the Black Swan downstairs. It's a great retreat from the busy city and the employees are very helpful. Oh, and the beds were incredibly comfortable! We didn't want to get out of bed! All in all, the best hotel at the best price in the galleria area.
- Pros: great location, great price, great pool
- Cons: self parking cost $6 every time you leave and come back
cool place to chill

I was overall pleased with the quality of the hotel. There is a cool club in the basement floor where alot of young ppl hang out on weekend nights. Everything was clean and functional here. I think they also offer free wireless internet access in all the rooms.
Stinky Pool & Attitudes
by dutchboy2k8
I just got back from my stay at the Omni, and can't say I was too impressed. Sure the lobby was pretty, but the lady behind the front desk was snobby and unpleasant. I guess when you buy a discounted rate at expedia.com you don't matter too much. The hotel promotes itself to the recreation crowd by boosting their 2 pools. The pools are small, and are made very uncomfortable by the incredible stink that blows over from the swan pawn. The parking situation could use some improvement, I did not appreciate the hike from the overflow parking lot.
