Good After-Work Spot. Older Crowd

by aggie2009 at Citysearch

This bar is part of the bigger chain of Sherlock Pub Company. It is my least favorite Sherlocks mostly because it is usually an older crowd (aka creepy old men...no offense). This is because it is displaced from the liveliness of the greater metro area. If you are younger, try out one of the other several locations. The bands are always good. They rotate between all of the spots. If I am meeting a friend in the area, I don't mind stopping by for a few drinks. The drink specials are always good.

My new hangout

by marti150 at Citysearch

I am new to town and have been looking for a new spot to be my regular hangout and I have found it!!! This place was great! The bands are great! I couldnt believe that they didnt charge a cover. It so big and spacious with plenty of bartenders so that its is never difficult to get a refill! I love it!!!

Horrible

by UTHouston at Citysearch

Please don't bother. This company as a whole has the worst management. You could die of thirst before you get waited on. I have given this bar multiple shots over the last 5 years and it has never improved. They are always understaffed. Furthermore, the band plays extremely loud. Can you give negative stars?

Ehh, there's better

by rob1930 at Citysearch

It is EXTREMLY LOUD with the live music. The place gets over-crowded in a hurry and it is tough to get service. It is a much better place when you go with a group and there is not a band playing. Small place that gets packed. Seek other venues.

It's not on Baker Street, but the attraction of this relaxed little bar is elementary.

The Scene
Don't let the Spanish-looking exterior fool you--this is no bright, sunny bar with a Latin theme. The large lower level of Sherlock's has the look and feel of a grungy biker bar, with a tiny stage and beer-soaked tables. If the jumble of arms, elbows and baseball caps gets to be too much, head upstairs to the quieter, darker portion of the pub. Here you can people-watch or sit on a couch in relative obscurity.

The Draw

There are also lots of beers to choose from and some sort of sport is always on the TV at Sherlock's, so it's a good place to watch a game. You'll find plenty of pool tables, as well. The bands that play are mostly local, playing a mix of covers and original songs to an ever-present throng of merrymakers.

RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL

by ricelad at Citysearch

i will never go back here again. the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional and the management didnt seem to care. with so many good bars in houston, there is absolutely no reason to put up with that. go somewhere else for a good drink and good treatment

Canuck's review, eh?

by dix93 at Citysearch

Hi there! I'm a regular 'ahole in the corner', but do not live in Houston anymore. When I visit, I land at the airport, get my rental and drive immediately to Sherlock's Westheimer. If none of my friends are off work yet, the bartenders and managers make me feel like I'm back 'home'. I spend every night at Sherlock's while I'm visiting.

All the staff calls me by name, asks me how things are going in 'The Great White North' etc. I love it there and my 2 bestfriends love it their too. It our best way to relax and have fun.

It's Home

by vrayz at Citysearch

I've met all my best friends there. Atmosphere is great for watching the game, hanging out with friends and having a beer. The waitstaff knows regulars by name and usually has your drink waiting for you at the bar as soon as they see you walk in. It's a landmark bar which has been there for a long time and things will break down and I imagine it takes a while to get an HVAC technician there to fix things. Shut up and drink Bandcamp and stop biting the hand that feeds ya. Who's the next pitcher on?! I don't ever want to go anywhere else! The Corner

  • Pros: Great Management, Great Waitstaff, It's Home
  • Cons: Bitchy Customers, Longhorn Fans, Texas is Hot

Past their prime

by kanwala at Citysearch

You know how a place gets popular and then they don't care about service and their customers because they think their place will always be full? Happens all the time. But then people get annoyed with the decrease in service and the increase in attitude and find somewhere else to go. Find somewhere else to go.

  • Cons: attitude
