don't bother!!
by pamelabourque at Citysearch
wow what a huge disappointment!! the place is old and thats ok, but almost on the dirty side! paper not a problem, I'm from texas so I do understand thats not out of the norm.....sausage was so greasy that it almost makes you sick.....sides are small(and not very good) too expensive for what you get! thats ok, I really don't compain about much,BUT the people there are so RUDE!! how do you stay in business?? If your heading to luling via I-10 stop at Mikeska"s or go alittle futher west on I-10 and stop at Fishbeck"s at least neither one of these places will turn off the light on you, or take your condiments while you still eating, or make you feel your bothering them two minutes after they stop serving....better yet just keep on 80 and go to lockhart.....good b-b-q, and they appreciate your business!!
- Pros: ?????
- Cons: rude people!!
Basic BBQ
by texmexgirl at Citysearch
Got my standard chopped beef sandwich, which is my test for any first time at a BBQ joint. No complaints about the brisket. It was just right - smokey and tender. I'm not a fan of the sauce, and the sides were pretty average. Nothing memorable here, but it's decent BBQ.
- Pros: good smokey brisket
- Cons: odd sauce, boring sides
who are you kidding?

- Cons: sauce, parking
Where's The Beef?
by Duffy_Dog at Citysearch
While several of my friends enjoyed eating off of a sheet of paper, not a plate, I found the experience less than pleasant. The portions were smaller than other b-b-q houses in Houston, and the service was not as good as I expected. The brisket was dry, but the sausage was fair. The sauce was tangy, but the beans were not cooked very well, and have little to no seasoning the three times I've been.
- Pros: Location, Ambiance
- Cons: Portions, Price
