Distinctive whitewashed and tile-roofed chain offers convenience and consistency.
by Contributor at Citysearch
In Short
Since opening its first location next to the San Antonio World's Fair in 1968, this well-known chain has become synonymous with consistency and reasonable rates. Room conveniences include data port phones with voice mail, work spaces, coffeemakers, irons, hair dryers and TVs with premium channels, movies-on-demand and video games. Budget-conscious travelers appreciate the free continental breakfast and families traveling with children like the pool and kids-stay-free policy.
Great Value especially in high-priced Galleria area

If you check into a Hotel simply for the pleasure of having a good, night's sleep then this is a gem in the Bayou City. From the moment we arrived we were promplty greeted and taken care of by the office staff. We always travel with our two pugs and therefore, La Quinta is one of few Inns that do not charge for them so we keep coming back whenever we need overnight addomodations. Sorry, "foodie", I don't agree with your review--you should take issue with room clealiness and courteous/uncourteous staff and not complain about the cookie and water that awaited you in your room. Next time, go to Denny's before you come to sleep and stop your bitchin!
- Pros: Close to major Houston attractions
- Cons: Asked for 1st floor b/c of dogs but being a holiday, we had to settle for 2nd floor.
Not worth staying here

In addition to La Quinta's low quality furnishings and high than expected cost, their service is simply terrible.
Giving you a free bottle of water and cookie for >$150/night is ridicuous.
Their frequent stay program in addition sucks.
