Excellent Place To Shop

I recently bought my husband some cuff links. I did not have a very large budget, but knew I wanted to get him something unique and nice. I told the owner, Brad Marks, what my budget was and he found these beautiful Scott Kay cuff links for my husband. My husband loves them. I would definitely recommend this store.

Waste of time

I agree fully. I W Marks staff showed no interest in waiting on us. There are much better jewelry stores with better selections and pricing than I W Marks. We went to another store and had our wedding rings designed and made there.

Do not waste your time going to I W Marks.

A Fantastic Place

A year ago my husband suprised me with a beautiful pendant for Mother's Day. One of the designers at I W Marks helped him to create his idea and it is absolutely beautiful and I receive so many compliments on it. The bale has come off a couple of times and when I return to the store to have it repaired I am treated very professionally and taken care of with politeness. I love going to this store and if I see a ring or a piece of jewelery I would like to look at closer, even though I am not going to purchase it. they seem to have no problem taking it from the case so I can look at it or even try it on. Whenever I want to purchase a quality piece of jewelery in the future this will be the store I will go to. Perhaps they may be a little higher in price but they have quality merchandise, employees who are very knowledgeable plus they also have great sales. Thank you I W Marks for being a great place to shop.

snobbish

I agree with the other two reviews when they said that the staff was rude and arrogant. I took a piece of jewelry into the store to have it possibly repaired & wanted an estimate. It was given to me by my mother-in-law, as it was handed to her by her mother-in-law. (I think it's an English tradition but I'm not sure.) It's not a priceless piece but it means a lot to me to have it fixed & I would pay anything because we're going to England to see my in-laws next month! The rudeness came when I first walked into the store. The staff stood there, absolutely looked me up & down, and barely greeted me. It was extremely uncomfortable at this point. The person with whom I spoke treated me like he didn't even want to be bothered. In the end, he told me that the piece was too delicate & that to really work with it would be, how did he put it....."cost prohibitive" or something like that. I walked out of there stunned, really. And when I got over the shock, I was kind of mad. After all, how did he know how much money I'm willing to spend on fixing it? My husband and I are new to town and so maybe I had high hopes for this store, as the write-up about the owner on their website & citysearch was very good - honest person, gives back to the community, etc. But now I know better. Snobby, unfriendly, and cold. I can see why all these negative reviews!

I W Marks

Very, very unhappy with I W Marks and would not recommend them to any new buyer! They gave me a very good price or so I thought but it ended up I paid a high end price AND they took my "trade in" and cash and the price was still on the high end. We went to them because we thought they would be the best place to not GET RIPPED OFF. We paid good money; way too much money and have no recourse - they have a no refund, no return policy and it is easy to see why. We have no legal recourse because they did tell us what the price was and sold us just that! They, however, ended up with a freebe and extra money plus the cost of very expensive piece of jewelry. Do NOT recommend this jewelry store to anyone!

worth your time to check out

We originally went into I.W. Marks a little overwhelmed at the cost. However, there was a sale, and at the end the manager reduced the price even further to something that we could afford. Although the price tags are high, I suggest sticking it out to the end as they are willing to work with you to get the jewelry you want in your price range.

Customer Service Very Poor

I went on strength of self-proclaimed reputation - largest Rolex retailer in Houston. I wanted Oyster Datejust, SS/gold, champagne dial, Arabic #s. They didn't have watch, but if paid in advance, could get in 2 weeks. Paid in advance, $6,440, 4/28. Called early May. Curtly told "Not in yet". They NEVER followed up when it became later and later, still no watch. I ALWAYS had to initiate calls, was fobbed off w/secretary. You'd think manager would become involved. THREE months later, no watch, no promised arrival. Finally insisted on speaking w/owner's son; said he had absolutely no control over what watches Rolex sent. Had no idea when/if watch would arrive. He finally offered refund; of course, no apology for horrendous customer service, no interest for 3-months free loan of my money. Do business with these arrogant asses at own risk. They think advertising substitutes for poor customer service. I disagree.

For longtime Houstonians, the store--and the man--are synonymous with jewlery in this city.
