Wonderful place

Tonight was my first night there and I had a good time.. The pizza was great and the service was great.. I asked for some water and was told it was .50 for bottle water.. I said that was fine I pay more for that at the clubs and its not ozarka.. over all i will be back and take some more friends with me....

Former Regular-won't be going back

I used to be a regular at Kenneally's. They USED to have great service and a good atmosphere. That has since changed. I've quit going there due to my last experience. I brought a friend who was not a regular and she requested tap water. The waitress informed her she had to pay for bottled water. My friend persisted in requesting a glass of tap water; she thought the waitress was joking about paying for water. The waitress informed her their policy does not allow them to serve tap water; they consider it a waste of the bartender's time....yes, she actually said that. Then when the so-called manager came to our table to address the issue, he told my friend to quit being cheap. Needless to say, we haven’t been back and anytime someone suggests Kenneally’s, I let them know about my experience and that I won’t be going back. There are too many bars in Houston to waste time with a bar that is so money-hungry it forces bottled water on its customers and accuses its customers of being cheap. I’m actually surprised the TABC allows them to do that……..

• Cons: Bad customer service, forced to pay for water

Agree w/those below - pizza is awesome, atmosphere lacking

Have been here before, years ago, and visited the other night when we wanted some pizza and beers. The pizza was so divine, we ordered three in a row, but yes, it was very strange that they don't provide free water. Come on! Maybe I want a glass of water to go with my pizza and Stella Artois. It's not like we're scrubs coming in here to not spend on alcohol.

The atmosphere is a bit lacking. Also a regular of Red Lion's, I can say that pub knows how to do ambience - it's always fun & lively in there, with the authentic pub decor and fun tunes in the background. We'd spend far more for pints at Red Lion, but we'd get some atmosphere with it.

• Cons: Scant parking on weekends, "meh" atmosphere

Ruined it with one little thing!

My wife and I joined friends yesterday for an evening out. The food was acceptable (the potato chips are exceptional) and the bar service quite good. However, when I pay for food, beer, and whiskey I expect complimentary tap water. The pub has a policy of not providing tap water for otherwise paying customers which really ruined an otherwise enjoyable experience. Now I realize that when one visits a pub it is usually to have a few drinks and enjoy pub food - exactly what we wanted, but I like to drink water along with my food and beer to stay hydrated and quench my thirst (beer tastes great, but is not a thirst quencher). They do offer bottled water at a very reasonable price, but that misses the point. I do not think it is too much to expect complimentary tap water when spending over $70 on the other fare. This was the first time I have ever been denied complimentary tap water in a bar and I, for one, will frequent those establishments that are not so stingy with their tap water.

• Cons: Failure to provide complimentary tap water to paying customers

Great Pizza, Great Fun....if you're in the mood

No doubt, this is the best thin crust pizza in the loop....and they serve it late!

The owners rock. The bar rocks...it's a great place if you want to roll up your sleeves, play some darts, eat good bar food and drink cold beer. AND they have an awesome juke box. I'd rather go here than Pearl any day.

Depressing, Smokey, Overrated

This place is overrated. It's true, the pizza is very good. But I've had equally good pizza elsewhere. It's always smokey, feels dirty, has rude bartenders and generally has a trashy / depressing vibe. Why would anyone opt for this place when there is Red Lion (an infinitely better pub) right across the street? Actually, all the bourgeois / depressing people, please don't cross the street. Stay where you are.

• Cons: quality of life suffers in order to enjoy pizza

This pub and pizza parlor bordering River Oaks is popular with students and those seeking an almost-authentic Irish experience.

In Short
Though a broad selection of beer seems to be the main draw, the pizza at Kenneally's may make you thirst for a Peroni rather than a Guinness. The sauce is fresh and the crust is thin and crispy. Homemade potato chips and other light fare are also available. Seating is at the long rectangular bar, at a group of tables in a back near the dart board or out on the open-air deck.

Great neighborhood bar

This is an awesome place! Friendly, a great selection of beer & spirits-great clientle Great staff-friendly,outgoing. You feel comfortable & have a fun time. I met lots of people & had a great time...have made it a regular stop. And the food is outstanding...not just the pizza but the burger & homemade chips are fabulous!!!!

it is now non smoking & is spotless inside...but I still like the patios/deck.Still my #1 place all year long!! POD1

Best Pizza, beer, and service

I've been in this pub many times, mostly alone, but I've never felt alone once inside.

Besides the most friendly staff I've ever seen anywhere, other customers are "openly

friendly." If you want to be friendly and talkative, others will join you. If you want to be

alone, they will leave you alone. The pup is very secure with no hassles. I've found a nice

variety of customers such as many professionals (lawyers, nurses, secretarys, sports

figures, government employees), of age students, and even a few retirees all looking

for just good fun, great beer (wide variety of liquor), and excellent Chicago style pizzas,

plus the best mustard and sandwiches ever.

I rate this Irish Pub a 10+. Brian Derby

Its an Irish Pub

Very few know how to pour a pint of Guiness. I was exremely happy with the place. I went on St. Patty's, yes a bit pricey however Guiness and whiskey is what I drink and $5 is pretty close to normal price (for good whiskey that is). I also loved the fact they had a spot to drink something out of this ice sculpture and get a shot glass with their name on it. That helped me remember what pub I went to. The guys and I run out there every chance we get. Its a pub not a diner, expect the occasional smoke. The only thing I think to make the place better would be to have more Irish music on the Juke Box, maybe some Traditional Irish Music along with some Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy's.
