It Rocks!
by huh111 at Citysearch
I live two blocks around the corner from this place. The first time I saw this place, I thought, this is just some strip mall pizzaria. I was WRONG! I got addicted to their Lasagna, and then I tasted their pizza. Whoa! I will never again eat another pizza from another place unless someone else is paying for it. My Uncle is from N.Y. and he was coming down here for a wedding. He wanted some decent pizza. I took him to Romanos and he said it was as good or even better that N. Y. pizza. Folks, this pizza place will get bigger in the next 2 years. Enjoy it while it is in its infant stage. Because in its infant stage, it remains pure, good and reliable!
- Pros: Best Italian Food
This little slice of Italy is a gem among chains, vying to make pies you can't refuse.

The Scene
Take a New Yorker to this joint. If he doesn't say it reminds him of Queens, it's because he's crying tears of homesickness. Dishes are authentic pizzeria staples (the owner hails from Italy via Ozone Park), but the low price is the main draw. Don't bother if you're out for the fancy stuff.
The Food
Salads are hit-and-miss, especially when the place gets slammed, but pizza's the star: thin-crust and snappy, flavorful and moist, sans drippy fluorescent-orange grease. Abundant fresh meats and vegetables serve as stand-alone meals despite their cameo performances as toppings. Cheeses have an Old-World texture, and zesty sauces, even plain-Jane marinara, have exactly the right amounts of herbs and garlic without any neoclassic minimalism.
What a wonderful surprise!

I've always been turned off by the location of the joint, but finally decided to give it a try after several recommendations. I'm so happy I did. Such yummy food, and so much of it! The Baked Ziti gets two thumbs up. It's better for take-out than dining-in as it's quite loud and a lil cramped.
- Pros: The Baked Ziti, Huge portions
- Cons: The restaurant isn't the best for dining in
The ONLY pizza I'll eat in Houston! Delicious.

I'm so lucky to have Romano's around the corner from me. It's without a doubt the best pizza I've had in Houston. It reminds me of the pizza I had when I lived in New York... It's delicious.
slice as big as my head

Get a slice, and share w/ a friend. Its tooo big. Great pizza. Yes a little more expensive than what I'm use to. But then a picasso is more expensive than a velvet elvis painting.
- Pros: your kids will love the pizza, plenty of parking
- Cons: little more expensive. But hey, I pay for coffee at starbucks, so Im not complaining.
Best pizza anywhere

I love the thin, crispy crust on the pizza. The margarita pizza beats my own because of the crust. The lasagna is just right. A very friendly, family operation at the Memorial location.
- Pros: casual, great pizza, fast service
Best Pizza in Houston
by noragirl at Citysearch
This is the best pizza in Houston!!! Being from New York which in my opinion has the best pizza. This place stole my heart the first time I tried it. My kids, born and raised in Houston, knew nothing about good pizza, all they ever tried was Pizza Hut and those other places which I don't like. One taste of pizza from Romano and bam, we always have to make that trip from the Northwest side because now they won't eat anything else. I'm just waiting for one to be builded in the 290 area, hint, hint.
Pizza Reminds me of Home - New York!

The pizza is awesome! I am from New York, and this pizza is the real thing!!! I have been in Houston since 1986, and this is the best pizza that I have tasted outside of NY!
Best pizza and calzone in town!
by yollielopez at Citysearch
Mr. Frank and Mr. Vinny work their tails off to deliver the best tasting Italian fare in town. The red sauce, the white sauce, the pasta, the pizza, the calzone, the meatballs, the garlic bread are all unbeatable for the taste, not to mention the price. We go every week to this eatery and our kids eat very well too. They are opened 7days a week and late, so yOu can go in wearing your grubs or your work clothes, everyone is welcomed, dressed as you are, anytime. Just wish they'd expand their wine selection...... nah.....forgetaboutit!
- Pros: Best pizza and calzone in town
- Cons: Limited wine selection
Love their Manicotti

I think you get a great deal for your money here! Salad and garlic bread are included with all the entrees and the food is so very good for the price. And you can even get wine with your meal. It has a really neat New York meets Houston atmosphere.
- Pros: Tasty, gerat marina sauce, a lot for the money
