hot, smokey, meat market minus the meat
by htowncoog
Both times i've been there on thursday, parking was horrible and as soon as a spot opened up in the front, they put a cone there but I didn't even see any valet guys around. I circled around and around and even tried the sorry excuse of a parking garage and still nothing. I would have given up but I was meeting a friend and so I had to park in a couple of streets over. I really think there should be some sort of building code in place for retail businesses to have enough parking(whether paid or free) available for the amount of customers they expect.
Once I finally found parking, it was just standing room both inside and outside. What enjoyment could people possibily get by standing a sun baked patio with steam pouring on you next to sweaty people? Inside was even more hot and crowded. It took me 5 minutes to get my drink and shoo away the guy who was hitting on my friend and i was out of there in 15 minutes.
I've never been a fan of restaurants that turn into bars/clubs at night because almost always there is not enough parking or room inside for that and this place is no exception. They have latin music playing but I'm sure there are many better places to go for that. This place is mostly a meat market of white guys trying to pick up latin girls...and a few white girls who think they can salsa.
To me, this is a sweaty parking lot with overpriced drinks.
- Pros: You get to park in front of river oaks homes
- Cons: no parking, overcrowded, AC doesn't work, meat market, did i mention over crowded?

Taco Milagro has inadequate parking, to put it mildly. Patrons are forced to park in other businesses' parking lots, and Houston has a thriving tow industry. Park at your own risk: your car may or may not be there when you come out of the restaurant. Additionally, the police in that area are constantly on the lookout for people to harass and give tickets to. So while you're spending a half hour circling the block looking for a parking space, BE SURE TO SIGNAL every time you turn. One cop had the nerve to accuse me of drinking, even though I hadn't even been in the club yet. What a dork! They're like vultures in that area. A joint bringing that large of a crowd could at least provide valet parking, instead of leaving its patrons at the mercy of petty cops and tow companies.
- Pros: Can't think of any
- Cons: No parking; cops and tow truck drivers prey on patrons

I remember this place to be full of good looking men and women! It was the "it" place when it first opened....NOW...its gone downhill. Im sorry to say but this place was a MESS!!! they have people sitting at the tables outside, occupying the space when there wasnt even a single cocktail nor food on the table! Its either they clientelle here are just so cheap to buy alcohol OR they have a hardtime getting thru the bar as you have to go thru a flock of guys that try to RUDELY touch and holler at you! UGH!!! it was disgusting! Its almost sick to know that this place exist in the UPPER KIRBY area!

Food was mediocre, dishes were heavy--literally, they weigh alot and I don't ever want to have to balance those plates through a crowd of "hotties" again! Parking is non-existant, "atmosphere" is crowded and loud, are you kidding me? I don't know how this place stays open. Drinks were self serve, and lacked real personality.
- Pros: none
- Cons: parking, self serve, bad drinks and dishes too heavy to carry
a bad self-serve resaturant

The patio at this gourmet Mexican eatery teems with successful, attractive singles. Come for sunset, stay for the moonrise.

In Short
Cafe Annie and Cafe Express owner Robert Del Grande wanted to create a Mexican restaurant that went far beyond Tex-Mex, utilizing earthy flavors from ingredients like mole, vibrant tomatilla, smoky chipotle and guajillo chili. For lunch, try Mexican hamburgers, stuffed with Poblano chiles and onions or spicy chorizo and cheese. Food is sometimes an afterthought to the masses who come for the top-shelf tequila bar and the promise of bright young things milling about after work.
Totally Awesome Place

Ok, if you have never been to Taco M before, you have to go now!! The age range is 21-30s. The food is excellent. I recommend the Spicy Shrimp Tamales. The tamales are spicy, ok?...not for the timid but very delicious.
The ambience is great with live music, beautiful people, etc. Also, if you like to dance, the salsa and merengue music is incredible. I went to Taco M last thursday with a group of ten people and we all had a great time. The sangrias totally rock. Not gonna lie, I had a lot of them that night! ;)
- Pros: Great food, Great music, Great drink
- Cons: Parking
bar scene with good food and nice patio

Taco Milagro is a casual restaurant where you place your order at the counter and pick it up when it's ready...kind of an up-scale fast-food place that serves alcohol. The setting is fine if you want to sit out on the patio by the fountains or inside by the bar, but is not a 'restaurant' setting (waiters, romantic setting, etc.), which is what we were expecting. They have a nice variety of salsas (about 9 types) that you can try (again, serve yourself)...we found some of them to be very vinegary. The food, however, was tasty, cheap (we paid $15 for two entrees...pork tamales and chicken enchiladas), and were prepared very quickly. Not a great date spot, but fun to go with a group for drinks and quick mexican food.
- Pros: nice patio, quick service, inexpensive
- Cons: wait on yourself, noisy sometimes
Sprinklers in October?
by gouldinian
We went out to Taco Milagro and there last night and it was pretty chilly, like 68 degrees. We were forced to sit under the cold mist which were being propelled by fans with sprinklers attached. They should really have checked the temperature out before they turned them on. All the hotties in their skimpy outfits looked like they were freezing.
- Pros: Great Thursday Nights
- Cons: Poor quality tequila, Sprinklers
