Besides the groovy little shop they have, Jill always makes sure you leave the salon

beaming with a fresh new look. Every little detail in your cut is tweaked to perfection.

I usually come up with something for my hair that can't just simply be done because

of the way my hair is grown out but she'll always work with you and bring it as close

to what you want as possible. I can always trust Jill to work her magic!

Great color, great cuts & friendly

I've been to Venus hair salon twice since I have moved in to the neighborhood. I couldn't be more pleased. I have never had a color last as long as the one done by Jill. I had so many compliments weeks even after my hair was cut. I have short hair and if it still looks great 3-4 weeks after a cut you know your hairdresser did a fantastic job. Everyone is super friendly and interesting to speak with.

Best Hair Colorist in Town

Not only does Susan do a most thorough and long-lasting color job on my very-resistant gray hair, she takes great care to protect it as it is baby-fine and delicate. I have not been to any other colorist who makes my hair look this good and does not damage it.

In addition, when I have an appointment to get my hair done, I look forward to a laid-back and interesting experience. I enjoy taking time out of my busy schedule to go to Venus Hair as much as I appreciate the look of my hair when I walk out the door. It is a pleasurable way to get my hair colored and visit with friends.

Never going back

I thought I had finally found the stylist for me when I first went to Venus Salon. However, on my third visit - an appointment I made six weeks in advance for the first timeslot of the day (9:00 a.m.) - I walked in to find Jill working on someone else. She explained that the woman had to pick her daughter up at 11:00 so she was going to take her first. She said she'd only be 10 minutes getting her color started and then could take me. She asked if I was "cool with that". I told her I would live and I took a carefully-timed 10minute walk. When I returned, she was about half way through getting the color on. Susan Venus was there, saw the whole thing, and never said a word.

Bottom line, if you're "cool with" having your appointment given away for bogus reason, this is cleary the salon for you. However, if you think that making an appointment six weeks in advance and showing up on time entitles you to expect your appointment to be honored, this might not be the place for you.

Great Hair Salon

this is the coolest place in Houston to get your hair done....they are all artists and even drive art cars to prove it. And the peeps you meet while there are all fun too!

I love coming here. Jill did great job on my haircut and color. When I go to Venus there is so much to keep me busy. Whether its looking at all the cool stuff on the wall, or chatting with the stylists and patrons. I'm so glad I found Venus Hair!

What can I say...except the I am blown away by Venus Hair. Let me explain.

I returned to Houston from NYC last summer and unfortunately let my hair grow out very long and it lost it's short cut shape. See, I have very curly hair. I mean REALLY curly hair. And to find a stylist who can work with my hair is sometimes a tall order.

When I went to another salon in town (near my home in the Montrose) I asked for a short cut. But my stylist couldn't do it. Seemed like she was afraid to take off the hair. Then I gave her one more chance and still she was unable to cut off the long hair....much to my chagrin.

Enter Venue Hair. I walked in last Friday and asked if they took walkins. Sharon looked at me and said YES! Then I told her I wanted to cut it all off. No problem, she says... Lastly, I told her that I needed to be done in 45 minutes. Again, she said..."No Problem."

And in 30 minutes I walked out of Venus with a GREAT hair cut at a great price. I couldn't be more pleased!!!

And I am now a devotee of Venus Hair. No need to look any further for a great haircut in Houston.

Best Place for Color in all of Houston!

I've been going to Susan Venus for about eight years. I have never had a bad experience! It's amazing what she can do with color (and it's not easy keeping away the grey)! The shop is quirky and very much an institution in the Heights. You'll never let anyone else touch your hair.
