Dr. Mao spends an appropriate amount of time with me and I have been a long time patient. She listens and answers many of my questions and gives me a sense of ease. She has always understood and took concern in many of my other medical conditions I have gone through in the past few years and I trust her more than my M. D. Anderson psychiatrist who just thinks of you as a number (which I no longer see) I truly trust Dr. Mao and her decisions and or recommendations. She is always concerned about my best interest. Her staff is outstanding in everyway and has never let me down. As Dr. Mao's patient of 5+ years I would recommend her to both my family and friends and YOU. cg

Pros: Always found a place in the schedule for me

Cons: moved further away, but worth the drive

A disaster! Dressed as a streetwaker to begin with.... Her office was like a pigstall..... purses on the floor, open... Coke cans open on a couple of tables; armoires open with files coming from the shelves; tissue boxes torn on the top; some nice couches with silk flowers in the middle of clerical chaos. Instead of asking me why I was there and how could she help me, she proceeded to defend my previous doctor experience and express all the things that I should not expect from her. She twisted my words every other sentence, and I had my husband with me as a witness. I feel sorry for the youngsters and the rest of her patients who don't know the difference between a good professional and Dr. Mao. Faking a perennial smile and showing cleavage to the sternum, she patronized me for 20 minutes until I announced my departure. She, at least, had the decency not to charge me, and had to apologize after I explained to her of my expectations for the medical treatment that I would be paying for. She does not deliver. No bedside manners, disgusting surroundings.

Pros: none

Cons: her mere practice

The staff at Dr Mao office is wonderful. Very professional and caring atmosphere. My son has been going to Dr Mao since he was six years old and he is currently 15 years of age. Dr Mao was very understanding in doing his diagnosis. She always takes her time with the patient to find out what the behavior are and issues at hand. My son will be going to Dr. Mao through his adulthood because he feel the caring sense that Dr Mao has. Thanks to Dr Mao and her staff for many years of good service.

I have been her patient since adolescence, and feel she has not only provided a professional service. She invests not only professionalism but also a nurturing environment. These attributes have allowed me, as her patient, to succeed in my professional and personal life. Bravo to you Dr. Mao.

Very dedicated, has helped my son so much this past year, very thorough. If she does run behind I really feel like its because she dedicates so much time to each patient and their needs.

The staff in her office is okay, but she is dreadful. I have made 7-8 different appointments over the past year, and she has cancelled every single one of them saying that she wasn't going to be in the office that day. She is a psychiatrist and I need my medicine and guidance as I'm sure others do. If you have any other options, choose them, NOT Dr. Mao.

Cons: unreliability, rude
