I've taken my dog there twice now and after two good experiences, I plan to be a regular. My mini poodle doesn't really like to go to the groomers or the vet in general, but they are very gentle with her and do a good job giving her the poodle cut tailored to my specific instructions. The price is on par with most other places. They probably cost more than your local petsmart but as much as an independant. locally-owned groomer that does a good job. I wouldn't go OUT of my way to go here, but while I'm living in the heights I think we'll be patrons.

Pros: They all obviously like animals, decent price, quick service

Cons: none

We had used this establishment for many years. When the management changed, things went downhill. Dogs are kept in crates far too long and in some cases in ones too small to support the standard of lay down, stand up, turn around and lay down again. They cannot keep good groomers (as of our last encounter) and they do not walk a dog who has been there a long time. On the other hand, we have found an alternative that keeps ALL dogs in separate areas (with little cots for them to lay on) and room to s-t-r-e-t-c-h out. They are let out TWICE during the day to keep them comfortable. Give Rover Oaks a try and I think you will be happy.

Pros: Had some good groomers

Cons: Tight-fitting crates, no appointments, over-committed, standards fallen

My two toy poodles came home looking so SPIFFY! One had never been to a groomer before but she acted as if she had a great time! The shop was clean and the prices comparable to most local groomers I had called. Mine will go back as long as they have a good grooming staff.

Pros: best for my pet

Cons: parking

I have some friends that used Heights Groomers for over 10 years. They loved the place and their two dogs always came out groomed well (so Im told). But when management changed, things got really bad. They eventually went to another groomer after several bad experiences with the new management. So, when I asked about the groomers I didnt get great reviews from them. Well, being a newbie to the heights, I called and made an appointment anyway. I should have known after the person answering the phone didnt know of my breed and was somewhat rude to me being a potential new customer. I told her of the breed, the phone clicked, I waited a few minutes and was told to bring her in. I guess I was put on hold while she asked of the breed... who knows... I took my dog, explained the cut I wanted for her, left her and picked her up that afternoon. She was much shorter than I wanted, her face was shaved very short and when I got her home... I noticed she had fleas. After paying 50 dollars (overpriced for a 10 pound dog) for a haircut I didnt want her to have.... I wont return.... not that big of a deal.. her hair did grow back and the fleas were controlled.... but the moral of the story.... Listen to someone when they tell you NOT to do something they experienced as not a good one ! PetSmart on Sheperd does a great job !

Pros: dropped of fthe same day

Cons: not what you wanted, fleas...

We had been going to Heights Dog Grooming for over a year with our dog. They did a great job but were very pricey. A new day manager took over about a month ago and it has gone down hill. We picked up our dog last month and he had been bathed but not groomed and we were charged for both. When we complained they promised they would honor it. We took our dog Saturday October the 21st at 7:30 and there were 9 dogs on the list in front of him. They normally get our dog out between 11 and 1. I called at 12:20 and at 12:30 to check and got no answer. I drove over and found that there were 3 dogs cardedfor grooming in front of our dog with the groomer and the normal groomer was carded out with 5 dogs. The math does not work!! I asked if he had been bathed. They went to the back and he had not been touched. I took him home and we are looking for a professional groomer.

Pros: None

Cons: Do not walk the dogs. Do not honor the order in which the dogs are brought in.Charge for services not perfromed.

They gave my dogs great cuts, but they didn't finish them that well. All other groomers have gotten their hair out of the their faces (parting it nicely), but they didn't. I don't believe they were familiar with my breed. Also, for two dogs (one 6 pounds and the other 15), I was charged over $100 total. I just stared at the bill when she told me total.

Pros: Good cuts

Cons: Over-priced

Well we have been attending Heights groomer for about 4 yrs now. Well I have nothing but nice things to say. Ok they might not walk us. But I know that my dad would feel better then to find out on that busy Studewood St. They really dont have an enclosed area. My bath and hair cut always looks so nice and my dad loves the way I smell. My Brother also gets his baths here. If my dad remembers to make an appt just like any other salons. Were in by 7am or so, but being pick-up has always work out for us. My dads have tried other groomers you should see how I they have left me. Im always happy that he brings us back to heights groomer. That reminds were do for a hair cut & bath woof! Petrie & Titus

Pros: always good to us!

Policy is no appointments but you are suppose to call ahead to schedule your grooming. They do allude that if you arrive early (by 7 am) your dog should be finished around noon. I called ahead seeking guidance on which day might be the least busy. I explained my dog had been sick and not holding his food very well. I requested an assurance that under these circumstances, if I was there by 7am, would they ensure I was able to pick him up by noon. I was told they were not a beauty parlor they just groomed dogs. And they would not be able to guarantee I would be able to pick him up by noon. Well I don't know about you, but my dog is more than just a dog. And they don't like to walk your dog during the day! I am definitely shopping for a groomer!

Cons: Poor attitude, No appointments

I don't know where I heard this from, but I was under the impression that you are not supposed to cut a dog's whiskers (or maybe that is just cats). Regardless, I wasn't a huge fan of their first come first serve policy. The doors open early (7 am-ish), and your dog is groomed depending on the # you get. I got there 5 minutes before opening, and was the last in a LONG line. When I picked up my dog at closing, they had just started and I had to wait 20 minutes post-closing while they finished. Why did I have to bother getting up so early on a Saturday morning if my dog wasn't going to be seen until 4pm? And because I was waiting, I think they rushed through the grooming. Overall, the people were pretty nice -- I just thought the system was terrible.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: , Overall quality
