Joy is a very approriate name for this school.

I am an educator with 15 years experience and I have visited hundreds of schools in the area. This is by far one of the best! There is absolutely no doubt that the faculty here want the students to be successful and work very hard to ensure that they are despite the obstacles they face. It is a warm and friendly environment that allows students that have struggled, lost self esteem and not been successful in other schools the opportunity to grow and flourish. I can't say enough positive things about this school. I can sincerely say that if ALL schools approached student learning like the Joy school does we would not have the drop out and failure rate in our country that we have- we would have educated, successful and happy students instead. The Joy school really is a joy!
- Pros: Faculty, environment, knowledge, everything
- Cons: Parking is a little tricky,but not terrible

Great school for thos who need extra help

This small school started out in an old museum district house and it has grown to be one of Houston's most sucessful schools. Ask anyone who has had a child here and they will have nothing but good things to say about this school. The number of kids per class is the best you will find and the teachers are willing to go that extra mile to ensure that your child gets the best education possible. This school is really a great school and has changed the lives of many people.
- Pros: great teachers, students get tons of help, easy to get involved in
- Cons: it is expensive (they do have scholarships that can help)
