Very happy I finally stopped in there!

This is one of those places I always pass up, because despite being a big pink house, it doesn't really jump out at you as a Mexican food joint. So after work today, starving for some Tex-Mex, I remembered the place and we tried it out.
It was only just after 5:00pm, so the place was kinda quiet, which made it a little awkward to hear the several others in there crunching on chips and nosing in on their conversations. A little music would have been nice for some atmosphere, and liven it up a bit. But otherwise, the place was nice and had an inexpensive menu.
Starving for a Tex-Mex fix, I ordered the "supreme burritos", and my friend ordered the chile relleno...nothing complicated. And we were both very happy with our meal. The portions were pretty substantial as well...and it was the first time in ages that I asked for a to-go box!
Service was top notch.
I'm so happy to have found a place close to home that really fills that "gap" in the area. Most of the other Mexican places over towards the Midtown/Downtown area seem to either be too dirty, too expensive, too trendy, have poor service, or don't speak English. ;)
I'll definitely be back!
- Pros: Good food, good value, excellent service.
- Cons: Kinda quiet in the afternoon?
wonderful food.

My husband and I were looking to try a new mexican restaurant in the area. We stopped El Paraiso and just loved it. The service was great, the food was delicious. Must try the tamales. We stopped by yesterday and going back today.
- Pros: Great Food. Average Pricing. Great Servcie.
- Cons: They close at 10PM during the week

Try the Queso and add ground beef. It's a bit spicy but sooo good! And wonderful margaritas! Great neighborhood find.
- Pros: queso, hidden find

A few years ago after just moving to Houston, I accidentally stopped by this restaurant i was very hungry, i normally wouldn't have stopped by being that everytime i went to a mexican restaurant it was not so good and most of them were already "americanized". To my surprise this place got me hooked, it is such a cozy, yet roomy place in which the humbleness of the environment sets you at ease, the food was truly authentic and fresh like no other except in a real mexican kitchen. I haven't stopped coming here since. If you're looking for a relaxed place to eat great homeade mexican food at very good prices this is the place be.
- Pros: authentic, inexpensive, cozy
- Cons: , no live music
