private table

The table in the kitchen was fantastic; each chef from the salad to dessert will tell what's in every dish and how it's prepared; everything tasted phenominal. This is an excellent spot to have a New Years dinner with friends and family.
Still love it, but it is on the decline

Brennan's cuisine, which a year ago I described as amazing, is tasting a bit stale these days. I still love the ultra-rich pecan-crusted fish and the white chocolate bread pudding (which is alone worth the visit), but other dishes have been disappointing of late. I have eaten here dozens of times for lunch and dinner, and six times for brunch. Most times, I experienced only exceptional service, but four recent visits have been tainted by pretentious, indifferent, and slow service. I am still impressed by their surprisingly affordable wine list, however, and I've had good experiences with the competent banquet manager. Overall, Brennan's is still a great choice for special occasion dining, business lunches, or even a fun night out with friends, but I don't think it ranks any longer as one of Houston's best. The service needs improvement, and the menu needs updating.
- Pros: Mouthwatering dessert, Excellent wine list, Fun jazz brunches
- Cons: Expensive parking, Inconsistent service
Not what we expected...

Overpriced for the quality of the food since the food did not reflect the description on the menu; it was bland. However, the patio with the huge tree was wonderful. Even a table overlooking the patio was romantic. The mint julep was tasty but the margaritas had no tequila.
The citysearch editorial review needs to be updated regarding menu selections.
- Pros: wonderful atmosphere, great patio
- Cons: poor bar quality, mediocre wait service
