I have heard great things about the healthy and good food at this restaurant, so I was eager to try the West side location on Memorial. We ordered buffalo wings, a turkey focaccia bread sandwich, and trio salad which included the crab salad, fruit salad, and chicken salad. Seating was quick, and we ordered beverages. Ten minutes later we were asked what we chose to drink. My choice, the black current iced tea, was no longer served. But it was still on the menu! Glasses were huge and we did not get a straw. The food took over 30 min. to arrive and the appetizer came out with the meal. The plates were so large they did not fit on our table for two. The wings were bland and limp. The sandwich was okay, but without much flavor. The crab and chicken salads were heavy and were not well seasoned. The fruit salad was one pineapple chunk, a quarter of a strawberry, two grapes and lots of melon which was dry. It appeared to have been sitting out for a while. It was lukewarm, not cold. We asked for to go boxes. These arrived 20 minutes after asking for them, along with a beverage we asked for earlier, and the check. Service was extremely slow. The waiter did not seem to care, as he stood around the front of the restaurant talking with other servers for much of our waiting time. I will not go back. I do not see what people have found so great. It may be healthy, but there are no nutrition charts to see exactly how many carbs or grams of sodium are in each item. I am on a diet for a chronic health condition and hoped to find a good restaurant I can frequent. Sorry to say this one isn't even close..

I wasn't really pleased with this place. They do have really healthy food for an ok price. The pita bread is really yummy I must say. They have some of the best carrot cake I have ever had in my entire life...and that is totally an understatement. If it weren't for the carrot cake I don't really think I would care too much about this place. It is really cute and they have a really wide variety of things on their menu, most of which I find a little bland and I have to add salt and pepper. There are better places to eat in Houston, or just cook at home.

Heard about this place through a few co-workers, so went to try it out with a friend for lunch. Food was tasty and fresh and filling. The place gets crowded fast so be sure to get there early! I would recommend it for a fancier lunch.

Every time I visit, I order the same thing: tuna salad pita with orzo. The tuna is low fat and packed with flavor. The pita is stuffed with shredded lettuce and juicy tomatoes. I would love to have the orzo salad recipe; haven't tasted anything like it anywhere else. Also, Anthony has waited on me a few times, both table-side and at the counter. He is just darling—so friendly and charming. I hope he sticks around for while.

Pros: mint iced tea, myriad low-fat menu items, patio seating, inexpensive, Anthony

I am a healthy eater and was pleasantly surprised when I came across this little Gem in the Rice area. It is perfect for lunching with your lady friends or a cute brunch with your significant other. I've tasted most of the healthy options and they all taste wonderful, almost like they wouldn't be healthy. Look for the cute little heart next to the menu item, that means it's healthy. Oh,..and you can order catering to be delivered. I love to order for myself and office associates.

Pros: Tasty fresh healthy food. Catering and Delivery

Cons: Small parking lot, but they do have complimentary valet : )

The food here is great and I have not been dissappointed yet. Recommend coming at dinner if you want a quiet meal, it can get packed at lunch, (and what is with ordering at the counter????). All in all a terrific little place to go. Definetly give it a try!!

What a hideaway in the village! If you are looking for a great meal at a good price then this is the place. The waitstaff as as friendly as could be and you can see why Hungry's has been such a neighborhood treasure for so many years. You have to try the gyros pita, its one of the best in Houston. Manager was friendly and even came by to make sure everything was great, this is my saturday night getaway!

I have been looking for a good "cafe" in Houston for some time now, and I've finally found it! The food here is fresh and flavorful. And a great value! The menu is broad so you can try something new every time you go (I have not yet been disappointed!). The atmosphere is great - relaxed and cozy (the patio outside is so nice after dark) Some people have complained about the service - I have only been a few times, but I have never had a problem. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

This place was recommended to me due to my affinity for healthy living and my love of flavorful food. I was disappointed, maybe I set my standards a little high. I ordered a Greek Omelette and it was dry and lacking in flavor. My potatoes were just plain cold. We asked for straws on more than two occasions and never got them. One of my party's order came out wrong. I am by ALL accounts a laid back diner who paid her way through school by waitressing. I am not very hard to please, so for this place to disappoint me says a lot about it. Maybe it was just back luck, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

We often wonder what we'd do if Hungry's ever closed up shop! We eat here once, if not two or three times a week. The menu is really diverse and they have healthy food that tastes great! We love the chicken avocado pita, greek salads, all the soups, all the hoagies, hummus, mixed fried basket, tostada salad, dark and white chocolate mousse cake, coffee, etc. etc. And we have yet to find better chicken salad. We also like that we can show up wearing almost anything. I agree with some reviewers that the service can be spotty, but it's usually nothing horrible and there are some waiters there we really like. I think it's because they have a lot of younger college kids in the waitstaff. Oh - and I also like that they're really laidback about substituting items. PS: You can park across the street at the church.
