We are repeat customers. We first heard about Lisette when my sister was getting married. My sister is tiny and was having a really hard time findingt he right dress. A friend of hers, who was recently married, had her dress made by Lisette. My sister was having a formal church wedding and large reception. She wanted a princess-like gown with traditional lace and beading. Lisette custom designed and fit the dress to my sister. Since my sister's wedding, my god sister and another friend have had Lisette do their dresses. Each dress she makes is so unique - from lacy and formal to a simple slip dress. I am getting married this summer and Lisette is making my dress. I had found 2 dresses I really liked - 1 an $11,000 Oscar de la Renta and the other a $5,000 Amsale. The issue was that I liked different things about the dresses. Lisette is making my dream dress and is combining all the features I loved from the 2 dresses and customizing it to me. The dress is made for me, the fabric colors selected to complement my skin not to mention that the workmanship is 1000 times better than the other designer gowns. The fabric Lisette selects is of the highest quality and the lace is unbelievable. Lisette is an artist. I have found her very easy to work with. I am so happy to get to wear my perfect dress on my wedding day. It looks like a perfect couture confection and the value is amazing. It will cost less than many designer gowns and since it is made for me no extra alteration charges. Three fittings in I wanted to make some changes. Lisette did the changes without a fuss because she want my dress to be perfect for me! A MUST visit for any bride-to-be! Who doesn't one there dream wedding gown custom made for them???
Pros: Custom couture gown - great value!
Cons: None

I bought both my wedding dress and debutante gown from Lisette Lux. With my debutante gown I got many amazing reviews, not just for the dress, but also for the craftsmanship and the high quality of the materials. When it came time to shop for a wedding dress, I wanted to see what all was out there so I went all over Houston looking for the perfect wedding gown. I never had that moment so many brides talk about when they find "the" dress so I went to see Lisette. I took her an enormous stack of photos of me in all the dresses I had tried on. She considered each dress and took notice to what aspects worked especially well on my body and those that did not. After she had been through the entire stack, we discussed it all and she sketched out a dress that worked with my body shape and met my style preferences. Over the course of the next few months we tweaked it until it was exactly what I wanted. The end product is absolutely stunning and I am more than thrilled. The icing on the cake is the price. The dress was very modestly price compared to Vera Wang, Monique Lhullier, Carolina Herrera, etc. It is the definitely, without doubt, better quality than the other designers and in many cases, half the price. This is most evident in the quality of lace she uses compared to that of Monique Lhullier. The only downside is watching her make all the other lovely wedding gowns in her store. It made me want a new dress for every hour of the reception!!! She is a very talented artist and does amazing work. I would recommend her not only for wedding gowns, but for evening gowns, flower girl dresses, baptism gowns, etc. Don't be afraid of her because she may be a little eccentric. Her work is flawless. I would not be a repeat customer if I were not completely satisfied.

I didn't have a very good experience with this establishment. I found Lisette to be tactless and abrasive. Eccentricity is an acceptable thing in some professions, but not this one.

I was fortunate enough to have a few acquaintances recommend Lisette Lux when I told them I wanted to have my wedding dress made. Hiring her was one of the best decisions I made throughout the whole wedding process. Lisette is eccentric, she admits that. She's true to her craft and is incredibly talented and meticulous. My dress ended up being everything I had imagined it would be - she let my design really come through while offering her own advice and expertise when necessary. She's amazing and I strongly recommend hiring her if you want a custom design. She's not inexpensive, but, my dress cost around what a Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Amsale, etc. would cost and the fabric, craftsmanship, and high-design are all not only unique, but also FAR superior to what those aforementioned labels sell for a few thousand dollars. My dress would've been TENS of thousands of dollars, had I hired Vera Wang, Monique L'huillier, etc. create it for me. So if you're familiar with couture prices, I guess she is a bargain. Anyway, Lisette is great and creates beautiful, sophisticated gowns.

Lisette Lux makes beautiful museum quality clothing. She does a lot of it herself. I have tried to help her in her shop but everyone wants HER. I have heard nothing but good things and thats why im writing this review..She cannot possibly answer every phone call she gets...this is why the store is open to the public on Saturdays.....

I've heard and read a number of bad reviews on this establishment. Phone calls not returned, impossible appointment hours, tempermental designer. On the up side, I hear the dresses are wonderful. Just not worth all the trouble you have to go through to get one. Planning a wedding is hard enough without additional hassel from vendors. I think I'll choose someone else for my daughter's dress.
