I went to Houston Bridal Gallery on the recommendation that "they treat you like a bride should be treated." I must say, this was not the case. It was by far the worst service I had ever experienced in a bridal salon. -The undergarments had holes in them and were torn. I'm guessing this was from brides putting them on alone since there wasn't any assistance with dressing. -The dresses were ripped, had broken zippers and missing buttons. Again, I'm sure this was because brides are forced to put on the dresses and take them of without any assistance. -Although appointments are required, they must overbook or not know how many dressing rooms are available because there were way too many people there. There was 1 mirror for 5 brides. -Overbooking also caused short staffing. Once I got into a dress alone, I had to walk into the middle of the salon, totally exposed, in order to get zipped or clipped. Then I had to wait for a mirror. -Once my mom unzipped me, I had to pull the dresses off any hang them up. -The only time the sales girl saw the inside of my dressing room was when she came to get dresses I had tried on so that other girls could try them on. -I saw a dress that a friend of mine had worn. I commented TO MY FRIENDS that I did not like this dress; the sales girl asked who the bride was and I would not tell her. She went to the ordering books, found the bride's name, and came back and asked again. Very unprofessional. Every other bridal salon I've been to has had 1-1 staffing (sometimes 2 staff/bride), dresses that were in much better shape, total assistance with dressing, and 1 mirror/bride. I do not recommend Houston Bridal Salon. The same dresses can be found elsewhere.
Cons: Service, sample dress quality

Even after reading reviews, I was afraid this boutique was out of my league. The staff was soooo friendly, though. I called for two Monday appointments (recommended even though not required on Mondays), and the girls were great. Tammy, Cece and Robin were all part of my dress-buying experience, with even the seamstress stepping in to assure she could handle the required alterations. You really do feel like a princess in those dressing rooms, then stepping out to see yourself in the huge mirrors. Robin called the company when ordering my dress and got a specialty request taken care of for me and called me back right away to confirm the color and let me know. I'm thrilled to be working with them, and so so happy that they store the dress for free until the big day!
Pros: Beautiful space, friendly employees, huge dressing rooms
Cons: Parking, medium-sized selection

I went to Houston Bridal & Formal Gallery with just 3 months until my wedding. I fell in love with one of their Demetrios Couture gowns and didn't expect to be able to get it in time. The consultants were tremendously helpful and willing to work with my conflict. They worked with me and order my gown, custom-made veil, headpiece, and shoes in time for my wedding. I would highly recommend them for all the future brides, believe me you will be stress free and pleased with their service.
Pros: Moderate pricing, Good customer service, Large selection

The atmosphere was so different to try on beautiful wedding gowns. I felt like Cinderella in this large 3 story mansion with huge gilded mirrors while try on gowns. People where very friendly and seemed more interesting in assisting me in finding the "perfect" dress not just in making a sell. Overall a very nice experience. Also nice selection of top styles at surprisingly reasonalble prices. Loved my dress.

I found out about Houston Bridal through a friend. It's located on Fannin, just south of Elgin on the second floor of the all white Bering Mansion. I went on a Sunday afternoon and without an appointment. I received personal attention and was impressed with their selection of affordable wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses that can actually be worn again. My friend went with me and took her dress in to be cleaned--definitely a full service salon. They have everything you need: dresses, veils, headpieces, tiaras, petticoats, jewelry, gift items for bridesmaids and shoes. The shoes are cute and can be dyed. But I still prefer my Jimmy Choos. I recommend this place for its friendly staff and good selection.
Pros: Affordable, Service, Selection

I found my dream dress there and then I realized that my dream dress was another that I had found there. I fell in love with a dress that came from one of the bridal magazines and I called to find out if they carried it. It turned out that they did, but as I perused the other dresses I found one that was so amazing. The prices there are very reasonable ranging from $300 to $1500. They also rent tuxedoes, sell bridesmaid dresses and bridal accesories.
Cons: Bad parking
