Great show - don't be in hurry to leave

The Wortham is a beautiful building and venue...just don't try to get out of it when the show is over.
We were there for The Nutcracher this evening. The show was beautiful, BUT IT TOOK US HEARLY A HALF HOUR JUST TO GET TO AN EXIT !!! God forbid that place should have an evacuation emergency. No stairs to a ground floor, puney, slow elevators that are only 30% functional, an under-engineered escalator that will only take 40% capacity. It ruined our entire evening.
- Pros: Beautiful venue
- Cons: Building infrastructure is pathetic
A celebrated arts venue that draws flocks of well-dressed patrons to a variety of opera, dance, music and theatrical events.

The Scene
The Center consists of two spaces, the 2,376-seat Alice and George Brown Theater and the 1,100-seat Lillie and Roy Cullen Theater, boasting unobstructed sightlines and admirable acoustics. The entryway and lobbies alone are spectacular enough to draw a crowd.
Facts
Brown is the home of the Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera and Theater Under the Stars. The Houston Ballet is the fifth-largest ballet company in the country and its season is a mixed bag of classic and contemporary offerings; the HGO is a reliable source of big-budget, upscale offerings. The more intimate Cullen Theater accommodates smaller productions of the opera and ballet, as well as Da Camera of Houston and Society for the Performing Arts.
