Great Food, Horrible Service

I had the blackened snapper. It was really really good. What wasn't good was the service. Our waiter wreaked of cigarette smoke. I had to grab his attention numerous times to order wine to have him clear the table. At the beginning he came by the table to tell us he was taking care of us and left without asking what we wanted for drinks. He served one person dessert and didn't ask anybody else if we wanted dessert. He served my dessert wine and took 10 minutes to give me my dessert and my wine got hot. I will not be going back.

PERFECT!

My husband brought me here the night he proposed to me which was a Friday. I must say everything was perfect. My husband had made a reservation so as soon as we got there we were seated. They had a jazz band playing that night and we had front row seats which added to the romantic ambiance. We started off with caesar salads each, those were good. I had the lobster enchiladas (sub'd the poblano sauce for smoked tomato sauce which they didn't have a problem doing) and they were so good I almost didn't want to let my husband try them! He had one of the steaks I can't remember which one, but it was very good. Juicy and tender. The bar is off to the side of the stage where the band plays but the patrons there are not loud or obnoxious. The service was great. Fast and efficient. I give it an A+

All around winner!

What a great night out! Everything in one spot. Started out as just some appetizers at the bar before a show at Hobby, but enjoyed the app's so much (seabass skewers, beignets and chicken samosas), we came back after the show and had full dinner (fantastic ribeye and pork chop). Ended up just about closing the place down dancing with nightcaps and the band taking our requests! Everything about the place made us want to stay longer. Can't wait to go back!

Great atmosphere

I read some bad reviews for this restaurant and wonder if they were at the same restaurant we enjoyed so much. My husband and I went to Sambuca when we became engaged, on our anniversary, my birthday and several other occasions. Personally, I enjoyed my food, our waiters were extra attentive, polite and we had excellent service. We saw some great shows and never lacked for anything. Waiting 45 minutes for a reserved seat only means that the restaurant is popular, I have waited longer for a reserved seat. Welcome to the big city, Jethro.

new to the area - will be back!!!!

I just moved to the area and our neighbors brought us to Sambuca for dinner. From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the moment we left, we had a great time!! Being a Friday night, there was a wait. We had a few drinks at the bar and listened to the live music which had already started. The bar was packed however all of the bartenders made sure all of us were taken care of. We didn't have to wait very long for our table and when we got sat, I thought we got the best seat in the house. It was upstairs and we got to overlook the whole restaurant and the stage while we dined. Talk about being treated like Rock Stars!!! Our server explained the new menu to us and a little bit about the band that was playing that night. We tried the Cowboy Cut Bone-In Ribeye and the Seafood Integration. Wonderful!!! The presentation of the Seafood Integration was different as it was like a seafood tower. I had never seen anything like that before and thought what a way to present a dish. My husband has never had a steak cooked exactly the way he likes it. We stayed around to enjoy the music and even danced a bit. What a wonderful night!! Thanks for making our first experience to Sambuca memorable. We will definitely be back!

i recently went to sambuca to see what my co workers were talking about. the place does have great music but as far as the service I was very disappointed to see a bunch of drugged up and drunk waiters. Not my idea of fine dining at all The food is good bar food. thats about it,wine list not too impressive but besides that the place was nice...... The director of opperations whom i spoke with about the conditions should be managing a mc donalds. The bar staff is nice that i can say.... Better off at cava bistro or mia bella

My husband and I met another couple for dinner at Sambuca the other night. They had never been and we had only been a couple of times. Everyone had a blast! The food was very good, and the music was excellent. Our waiter was outstanding. He was very knowlegeable about the menu and suggested a great wine to go with our food. Our friends are already planning a trip back. Overall I would give the food four stars, the music four as well and the service five.

Horrible service

Looking at all the reviews, it seems the service tends to vary quite a bit. For my experience, right from the start of the night when we arrived we really had the impression they could care less. So, after a little while we decided to go elsewhere with our money especially when we realized a couple sitting near us had been there for quite awhile without ANY service.

Good Music, nice atmosphere!

While i had a good experiene at Sambuca, i was disappointed that after making a reservation for a Birthday dinner, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. I also read somewhere that they had a 2-hour limit on their tables which is not the case anymore(old policy, according to the manager). Once seated, we had a great waiter who was very passionate about the food and gave great service. We were also pleasantly surprised when the house comped the first few drinks we had during the 45 minutes we waited to be seated WITH a reservation! The band was great! The food was good - not fantastic, but good! I would recommend this place but since it is hip and happening, be ready to wait for a table, or dine at the bar!
