We went recently for our anniversary and had a very nice dinner. The server was very knowledgeable and he did a very good job pairing wines for us. We liked all our food, but our fish entrees were outstanding! My only knock is that it's a little dated inside, but it is Green Hills so it is what it is. The jazz in the bar is nice touch as well.
Pros: food, service, extensive wine list
Cons: decor

F. Scott's is by far my favorite restaurant in Nashville...and I have certainly been to alot of them. The food and atmosphere are phenomenal. You can almost always be seated in the bar and you are taken care of just as carefully as if you are in the dining area. The jazz is always a nice experience to go along with the food. This is THE place for a romantic experience.

I have never written a restaurant review before, but wanted to tell you all about our dinner at F. Scott's because I had been nervous after reading some negative Citysearch write-ups on the place. I took my boyfriend there for a romantic and relaxing date and couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was classy, clean, quiet and comfortable. We could enjoy the bar's lovely jazz music from the dining room, though it wasn't overwhelming. Our waitress was friendly, unobtrusive, and very knowledgable. Our courses were paced out perfectly. The food was perfect in size (filling and they clearly don't try to make up for quality with quantity) and ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DELICIOUS. We began with Caesar salad, winter soup, and restaurant's warm homemade breads. My boyfriend dined on the pork chop for dinner while I loved the vegetarian special: spicy artichokes, root vegetables, and red wine risotto. For dessert, we luxuriated in a ginger apple crisp a la mode. It was also all elegantly presented. When the bill came, both my boyfriend and I noted that it was an appropriate sum for this all-around excellent experience. And upon leaving, we found we'd been sitting for so long that we'd closed down the restaurant at the end of the night, and no one had rushed us away... or even hinted! It was all perfectly lovely.
Pros: Food, Value, Service
Cons: None

My family went only because we heard strong recommendations from a professor at Vanderbilt. We realized the prices were high...but great food can come with a great price. Not here.... The menu is limited and has generalized (not creative) menu items of an overpriced wannabe restaurant. I ordered the chicken and was disappointed with the flavor. It was dried out and only had some flavor thanks to the thick sauce underneath. The server forgot to bring drinks mulitple times and we were left with unfilled glasses. On a positive note, the wine was good. The meals weren't absurdly small in size, just in flavor. We were unimpressed...they would have to change more than the daily specials for us to go back.
Pros: music was great, good choices of wine
Cons: wait staff was snobby, poor food flavor, stodgy ambiance

Always a great dining experience. Valet parking is nice and the entertainment in the lounge is always fabulous. We enjoy the atmosphere.
Pros: Great food and wine
Cons: none

My wife had Sable Fish and I had the pan-seared monkfish. Both were excellent. Glazes/sauces for the fish were lightly sweet. Our appetizer of goat cheese, mushrooms, and bacon on flatbread was delicious - and very rich. The ambience is classy without being stuffy.

My friend found a pubic hair in her food here. I was with her. I saw it. I would advise checking your plate for pubic hairs prior to eating your meal.

I had the worst dinner at F. Scotts I've ever had in Nashville: the service was rude, the food was cold, and the wine I ordered had turned bad (when I sent it back, she tried to sell me on another wine that was $20 more expensive with no apologies). If you want a nice meal, I would encourage you to go elsewhere.

I've been to F. Scott's a dozen times, and everytime the service has been wonderful and the food -- perfect. This is not a $$$$ steak-house, go to Morton's or Ruth's Cris if you want steak (although F. Scott's does have a very good filet mignon). But, if you want amazing, creative and varied cuisine, along with a sophisticated and romantic atmoshpere, then F. Scott's is your place. The only place I can think of in Nashville that has comparable cuisine is Flyte. And while my experience at Flyte was great, I'd take the service and ambience of F. Scott's everytime. So, unless you're a high-schooler that doesn't appreciate the enormity of restaurant management replacing, on the spot, a dress your server damaged so that you're little prom isn't ruined, I think you'll enjoy F. Scott's.

Bad service and booorish dishes. Very average. Not a place I would take friends or dine again. My dish was burned and the service was poor.
