Worst experience ever! Party of 8 Walked out!

This was awful. Went on sunday for brunch with whole family. Had reservations. Seated 30 minutes late. They had NO WATER, no glasses for water or tea, no silverware for the Buffett and no dishes to eat on. They had $.25 mimosas that were served warm with no champeign. We left change on the tables for the mimosas and walked out. As we were leaving so were other tables. We will never never never go back there.

Great tasting food

My husband and I went for brunch and the prices were really good as it included bottomless mimosas. The food was excellent and they have a good variety.

Great Food - Horrible Service

This was our first visit and we had heard that the Sunday brunch was very good. The food was very good - very spicy - but very good. The service, on the other hand, was HORRIBLE. We were shown to our table and drinks were ordered. No one ever showed us a menu for omelets or explained where the buffet was. We found the buffet and helped ourselves. Our waitress dropped off our check immediately and that was the last time we saw her volunterially. We had to literally flag her down for anything else. We never did get our second glass of water. A table of patrons next to us were having similar problems (they were repeat customers) and brought it to the attention of the owner. They mentioned that we were having similar issues and the owner just walked away. Never stopped by our table to check the situation or anything. My assumption is that she just does not care how her patrons are treated.

Again, the food was excellent as was the music but be prepared to fend for yourself as far as service is concerned.

Truly Authentic, Affordably Priced South African Food!

The restaurant has a great location in Sugar Land, overlooking the water, and has a great balcony. I ate there along with three other people approximately two weeks ago.

We were seated promptly and offered wine and beverages before receiving menus. For appetizers we all had a salad and shared a plate of chakalaka, a very nice spicy vegetarian dish they prepared to perfection.

For the main course, two had lamb chops, I had the chicken curry, and my wife had the King Klip fish. All the food was well cooked, fresh, and tasty! The prices were very reasonable and service was quick and courteous.

As a South African expatriate, I would highly recommend Out of Africa to get a taste of home, whether you feel like trainsmash, boerewors or a great chakalaka, their food is great, and their deserts are just the way Ouma made them.

• Cons: Only that a couple of my favorites weren't on the menu, otherwise I was completely satisfied.
