Wonderful Christian Counselor

Kathy is a very caring and very professional counselor. Her counseling is biblically based, but also she has great strategies for making the relationship grow and become more solid. She has a great way about her that puts you at ease and helps you open up about the problems.

I am so grateful that God led us to her.

Amazing Counselor- The BEst

I am a 26 year old female that had an all time low in my life this past year. I have been to counselors before but noone has ever made me feel empowered or accepted the way Kathy has. She is a Christian counselor which really helps with my faith in god as well, and I believe that god-along with her are the only two things that have gotten me through this tough year.

She is always available to listen, and I like that she is straight to the point and will tell you exactly how she sees it.

I have learned about myself more through this opppurtunity with her, and I am continuing to grow each and every day!!!

She is amazing as my individual counselor- but she was also amazing while doing couples therapy.

I would not trust my situation or my life with someone else- she is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Receive Counseling from a Balanced Perspective

I started seeing Kathy over 5 years ago when my husband spiritually divorced me and abandoned me after denying the Bible and falling into the New Age movement. I was distraught and knew I needed help in coping. Kathy taught me cognitive therapy where I would state all the facts in order to not listen to the lies within me about myself and marriage. She also helped me to work through false guilt and distinguish false guilt from true guilt. I am so grateful for her! She is and was a God-send! I would recommend her to any of my friends or family! She is mature and deep in that she helped me to look at all sides of the coin including my conflicting feelings. What a balanced lady with a Godly perspective on life and human relations! I continue to see her because grief continues to pop up at times. She has walked me through all the stages of grief and helped me to stay focused! It is so good to know she is there when I have an emotional issue.

Not your typical councelor

I have seen four councelors through four different stages of my life and Kathy was by far the best. She so subtly leads you toward sharing and connects with you and is direct when necessary but gentle, respectful and makes you feel completely comfortable, even sharing your most painful or fearful things.

She empathizes with you when appropriate and I would recommend her to ANYONE who needed a safe, trusted, healing environment.

Real change, and in a very short time.

Something had to change. My husband and I have been married 36 years, and I could not continue living with him as things were. I had lost all respect for him and had become verbally abusive toward him mainly as a way to get him to leave. I went to Kathy based on the reviews on this website, and thought I would see if there was any way I could change my attitudes and behavior toward my husband. If not, I would consider leaving him.

At the end of my first meeting with Kathy, she asked to work with both of us. She was patient, listened carefully, and made direct observations and suggestions. Somehow, after a meeting she had with my husband, he saw things in a totally different way. I have been amazed at the difference in how he actually wants to hear my concerns, and readily admits when he is at fault, and sincerely apologizes for the things he has done all these years that have hurt me. The last time we saw her, I told her it is as if she touched him with a magic wand and turned my Pinocchio husband into a real person. I find myself wanting to do things for him again, and when I find he has made a mistake, I see it as a minor slip-up instead of feeling this instant surge of anger and disgust. I don't know how she did this ? we had worked before with psychologists, but Kathy does not simply wait for us to figure things out by ourselves. She speaks clearly and tells it like it is ? in a kind, careful way ? that somehow gets results in a very short time. My husband and I realize that we may have rough times again, but now we know we have someone we can go to for real help.

• Pros: Easy to schedule appointments, very easy to talk to, very caring.
• Cons: None.

Counseling that works!

Kathy is friendly, perceptive and makes workable suggestions that help. We tried a number of counseling approaches and had, by far, the best results of any with Karis Counseling.

As a man I thought I could deal with any crisis alone.

Kathy helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life which was divorce. Being a man it was very difficult for me to seek help but at the lowest point in my life I found a guiding light in Kathy. I found no judgement or condemnation for my behavior which was a partial cause in a failing marriage. I found hope for coping with my feelings and irrational emotions. You have to understand this process did not happen in a matter of weeks but through a series of months of looking inwardly, objectively at behaviors in my life that needed adjustments. Again being a successful businessman and admitting you need help was a difficult step to take but one I should have taken decades ago. I found strength in my beliefs and faith that I had neglected from early years in climbing the latter of success. Once again because of the guidance offered through Kathy I returned to things that really matter most in life. Through her I found direction, purpose, and confidence to cope with any crisis.

No Need To Look Any Further

Intuative and to the point. One of the things I appreciate most about Kathy is she wastes no time getting to the core of the issue with kindness and empathy.

For both marriage and individual counseling, Kathy has been so valueable in helping me find a clear perspecitve I can truly understand and count on.

It is great to have someone I can consult with at any time on any issue who can help me find my "focus".

Kathy Pardue is truly gifted in her profession!

Best Counselor in Houston

Meeting Kathy was an answer to my prayers! After meeting with several other counselors, and repeating our painful story and situation over and over, I was not looking forward to trying another one, but I am so glad we did! Kathy Pardue is amazingly warm and as easy to pour your heart out to as your best friend. She has sound biblical advice, she applies her knowledge to my situation and actually gives me a variety tools and answers rather than just listening and letting me eventually come to my own conclusions via a staring contest. She customizes her advice to my personality and to my husband's personality in a way that we can live with and work with, and won't abandon because it doesn't fit us. She is blunt at times (haha.. she even got through to my husband in a way I couldn't for all these years!) and she is gentle with her words when fragile feelings are at stake. She stays current on seminars and literature to help us get the help we need. I credit her with helping us saving our marriage! She is awesome, easy to schedule appointments with, and takes our insurance (a biggie for us since we needed so much help!). Highly recommended. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

The Counseling Angel

I am so thankful that God led me to Kathy to discover, grow, change, accept, learn, understand, develop, feel and most of all, come to terms with the reality of the present moment; while finding peace in all that I have experienced. Kathy's whole hearted truths, through compassion and empathy, has allowed me to move through all of the heavy emotions I have unknowingly been carting around on my shoulders, in an overbearing, unbalanced, lopsided existence. She has helped me to see the realness of my pain, by looking dead on to its core, to diminish the power it so tightly had me wrapped around. The excitement and fullness upon leaving Kathy's office each week, put an extra spring in my step! I feel so grateful our paths crossed, knowing all that she has shared with me will carry me through with great support, as I walk forth with optimism...not running too fast, but enjoying the present beauty all around me! Kathy is a true gift!!! I believe she is an angel flying around from person to person, sprinkling her wisdom on the lucky ones that have had the chance to become better off from having known her! I will cherish our friendship always!
