Thursday Night Jam Sessions

The music, the setup and the regulars. But beware of the $3.00 parking lot it is a "trap". I know a 1/2 people that went to get change and found a boot on the car within 5 mins. or less at the tune of $100.00. That puts a damper on the evening for sure.
- Pros: Various Artist/Adult environment
- Cons: small/parking
Nice quaint jazz club

It was clean and nicely decorated. Everyone was friendly and it was nice to see the owner mingle in with the group. The crowd was mature and friendly. The guy at the door was very nice and friendly and assisted me to the car.
- Pros: Atmosphere friendly and clean bathroom
- Cons: small place and parking
Great place to relax and enjoy the night

I just celebrated my 40th Birthday at Legends and what a great time I had! I'm not a big club person so when my girl friend told me about the atmosphere I thought this was the perfect place, plus I love to hear Joe Carmouche play. Well I celebrated and had a great time I think my guest may have taken over the place, but the staff did not waiver not even a little. Veronica the bartender kept the drinks flowing and the waitress made everyone feel important. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone. Oh did I mention the food was great! I know the drink selection is not wide, but I'm a wine and Martini drinker so all was good with me. The only draw back I had was Joe wasn't performing that night other than that I have no complaints.
- Pros: Best Staff in Town!!
- Cons: The place could be a little bigger
Great customer service and ambiance

We came to Legends after being treated poorly at Red Cat and were pleasantly surprised. Although it was a little hard to find, it had a cozy feeling to it. We sat at the bar and were immediately waited on with warm smiles and pleasant attitudes. They asked us several times if we wanted to sit at a table. The music was great. It was an R&B singer, J.O. and the sounds of the atmosphere. The wait staff and management were very friendly and accomodating. The bartender actually asked me if I was cold, since I still had by scarf on, and turned up the heat for me. They only serve beer and wine, so I would have liked a more extensive wine list. The place is kind of small so I would get there early to ensure that you can get a seat. We got there at about 9:30pm and there were plenty of seats, but it was packed by 10:30pm.
We will definitely go back!!!
- Pros: Customer service, great music
- Cons: Limited wine selection and seating

Having been to a few legends club in other areas I had an idea of what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It isn't the commercialized, theater like place you would think like The House of Blues or even other more known Legends cafe's. The atmosphere is more like a mom and pop type cafe. I actually got lost trying to find it and called the club to get directions, but since its a relatively new location they couldn't help. Veronica, the bartender, actually found someone that knew the area well and CALLED ME BACK to give me the directions. That impressed me the most as not too many places will go to that much effort for a customer. The food there was really good and decently priced. I'd recommend the "southwest egg rolls" and the chicken fettucinni. Drinks are the cheapest of all the clubs i went too $3-$4 beers and a good wine list as well. If your going to check out this place make sure to go on a friday or saturday. Joe Carmouche and his trio that played were good, really love what they do and it shows. His version of BB King's "Deja Blues" was phenomenal and the group was friendly ,just hanging out with the guests during breaks and after their set. He does play to the tastes of the crowd but even the R&B stuff he played had a jazz flare to it. This place was definitely worth going to and I will be going back on my next texas trip. The contact number given here is someone,s personal cell not the cafe phone so call information to get the right number.
My search is OVER!

I have been looking for a swinging jazz club in Houston and I have found "the" place! Legends is in a great location and the place is cozy. The staff is friendly and hospitable and the drink prices are reasonable. You must try the excellent buffet on Fridays! Thanks for keeping jazz alive!!
- Pros: great music, ambience and service
- Cons: Limited drink selection
