Great experience, will be back

When I think of what a bike shop is supposed to be like, this is the place that pops into my head.
- Pros: excellent service, neat products, great location
- Cons: not a Specialized dealer
Just right for the Heights!
by babanaannie
This place is perfect for the Houston Heights. The guys who work there are really nice every time I go in. Even when I just had a silly question about my new bike, they were willing to stop and tell me what I needed to know. They seem highly skilled and are always very informative. I go in sometimes just because I'm riding by and they always let me bring in my dogs in the shop!! They sometimes even give them water and treats. I love this neighborhood shop. Thumbs up! (hey guys, start up the week night rides again!)
- Pros: good service- nice people- pet friendly
Great Bike Shop!!
by 1fatkid
These guys are great!!!
My bike is a pile of crud, but they made it work like BETTER than new!!! I'm so happy!!
They seem to know how to fix anything, and they know how to help people.
They are very knowledgeable on all kinds of bike related stuff like bikes, gear, repair & maintenance, riding, commuting, and just having fun!!
I was really impressed with their knowledge of the cool riding gear......what worked and why, what DIDN'T work and why, and what you actually do NEED, and stuff you really don't need!!!
Great service ROCKS!!! Friendly, fast, great service is even better!!!
They said they'd "knock out" a tune up in 24 hours........AND THEY DID!!!
My bike was treated like a Ferrari, even though its a twenty year old junker!!
It got the same treatment as the carbon fiber, Lance Armstrong looking rocket in another stand.
They didn't even care if it was a piece, they just seem to love working on bikes. AWESOME!!!
They don't SELL you stuff you don't need, but they will give you their honest opinions on parts
that should be fixed or replaced, and ASK if you would like to fix it, instead of insisting.
They wanted ME to be safe, by making my bike work great.
Thats what counts for me!!! GREAT SERVICE!!!!
I got to watch one of the guys build a wheel while I was hanging around, after dropping off my bike.
I thought that was kind of cool, or at least something you don't get to see every day.
They said they do lots of custom wheel building and completely custom bike assemblies,
and it appeared that they had everything they needed to do so.
If you drop in with a flat tire, they'll fix it ON THE SPOT!!!! Best money I've ever spent!!
They told me "about 5 minutes", so I walked down the street to get a beer at Onion Creek.
I'm not sure how long it actually took, but I was weaving home within 30 minutes!!!
THANKS A MILLION BLUE LINE BIKE GUYS!!!!!!
- Pros: Great service. Great help. Knowledgable staff. Cool looking shop. NO polo shirts!!!
- Cons: None that I noticed!!
Blue Line Bike Labs Rocks (BLBL)
by FatManOnABike
I am broke and looking to buy a new bike. I have shopped about eight other, bike shops, repeatedly. One guy ,on two separate ocassions pointed me custom made $3500 bike after I told about my <$1500 budget! When I got to BLBL I noticed the place is different. You have to notice the place is different. The guy I spoke with seemed to care about not just selling me a bike, but about bikes in general. He asked questions and LISTENED to my responses. He took my feedback and made some valuable suggestions. I got a free education about steel frames and the differences between road vs. touring frames. It just feels like these guys like what they do. I haven't bought yet, but once I save up the cash, I'll be back. Blue Line Bike Labs, good guys, Good bikes.
Nice, laied back atmosphere. Friendly employees.

I am a first time MS-150 rider and I needed a road bike. I went a couple of other stores the same week to look and ask around about what I needed. Not knowing much about road bikes (I only have a mountain bike that my brother gave me), I needed some information on how to pick the right one for me. At one of the other stores I went to I felt particularly embarrassed and put off by one of the employees. He kept asking me technical questions about bikes, even after I had told them that I knew nothing about road bikes. I left the store feeling confused. After visiting a few other stores I went to Blue Line Bicycle Laboratory only because I saw their add in the Houston Press. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. The guy there helped me understand the difference between road bikes and other kinds of bikes. After I picked out my bike I left feeling like I had made the right decision about my bike. And I did because I love it! I also feel a lot more knowledgeable about bikes in general. Oh and they also gave me a free tune up with my new bike! Thanks!
- Pros: laied back place, nice employees
