FIRST WHEN WE ARRIVED WE WHERE TOLD THAT OUR TABLE WAS COMING UP FOR 10PPL AND WE WHERE TO WAIT ON THIS OTHER PARTY TO LEAVE. SO WHEN I SAW THE PARTY LEAVING I IMMEDATLEY WENT TO THE WAITRESS AND ASKED HER WHAT WAS GOING ON AFTER NOTICYING THE TABLE SHE PROMISED US WAS BEING OCCUPIED. SHE THEN SAID OHH I HAVE ANOTHER TABLE FOR YOU GUYS. THAT LADY PLACED US TO THE BACK OF THE RESTURANT. I DIDNT FEEL LIKE THAT WAS A PROBLEM AT ALL. SO AS WE BEGAN TO TAKE OUR SEATS 2 OTHER LADIES JOINED US. * REMEBER WE ASKED FOR A TABLE FOR 10* SO THEY HAD SHORT US 1 CHAIR. AFTER ASKING OUR WAITER FOR A CHAIR HE SAID HE WOULD TRY HIS BEST. NOW 5 MIN HAVE PASSED AND STILL NO CHAIR. THATS WHEN THINGS BEGAN TO TAKE A TURN DOWN HILL THE MANAGER BY THE NAME OF "BARBARA" WAS SOOOOO RUDE AND SHE SPOKE TO MY SISTER IN AN UNFASHIONBLY MANNER SHE EVEN TOUCHED HER ON HER SHOULDER AND REFUSED TO SERVE US OVER 1 CHAIR. THATS WHEN WE ALL DECIDED TO LEAVE AND SHE THEN FOLLOWED US OUT THE RESTURANT TALKING TO THE POLICE OFFICE AND WAS TELLING HIM WE OWED $82.00 FOR SOME DRINKS WE HADNT EVEN RECIEVED YET. WE TOLD THE OFFICER OUR STORY AND "BARBARA" THEN TOLD THE POLICE OFFICER SHE MADE A MISTAKE. WE HADNT RECIEVED OUR DRINKS. SHE KEPT GETTING ATTITUDES AND CURSING AT MY SISTER. WE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO TASTE THE FOOD AND DRINKS BUT DUE TO AN ANGRY EMPLOYEE WE WHERE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING... BARBARA IS A VERY RUDE, AND UNPROFEESIONAL PERSON AND JUST BELIEVE JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED MAAM....
Disrespected!

I have visited Cyclone on numerous occasions and the service was fair. Last weekend me and several of my girlfriends ATTEMPTED to get together to have a few drinks. We arrived there at 830 and due to the large party the wait was supposedly 1hr and 15 min. We ended up waiting 2hrs before we were actually seated. Once we were seated there was not enough room for my party. We ordered our drinks but never received them. They sat us way in the back of the restuarant after being told that we will be seated at another table. Anyways, once we spoke to the Hostess anout the seating arrangements she refused to add chairs to the table. So we asked to speak with the Manager. The Hostess was RUDE as well as the Manager. I politely advidsed the Manager(Barbara) that there must have been a misunderstanding. So we continued to go back and forth sharing words. Which first of all, was not showing customer service for her to argue with me in a place of business. I ended the conversation and told her Thats Ok maam, I will handle it. I guess that made her even more upset. She tapped me on my shoulder and said she refused to service me.My hold party was apauled and didnt know what was the issue. She said she willhave me escorted by the police. To stop the confusion we decided to leave and take our money elsewhere. As we were leaving the Manager brought an Tab out and said that we owed $82.00 dollars for drinks that we never received..So we spoke to the officer and advised him that we never received anything. So she supposedly apologized..which we never received...WEll to make a long story short, it was already 11pm so we headed across the street to Buffalo Wild Wings where the service was excellent...lol....A night well wasted... I will never visit Cyclone Anaya's in Midtown again. NEVER
- Pros: Great Margaritas
- Cons: Management is Rude as Ever!!!
Overpriced, Rude Service

There are a lot of good restaurants in this area, this just isn't one of them. Had really high expectations, but was seriously let down. The staff constantly pesters you and not in a good way. Dropped $70 on an hour in drinks on drinks for 2 and waiter and manager still acted annoyed that we didn't order more/faster. They just want to push you out to get more people in. Not an enjoyable experience at all.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Rude Staff, Overcrowded, Prices
Best outside place for lunch in Midtown
by mmurff at Citysearch
I work in the southeast section of downtown (Allen Center / Cullen Center area), so Cyclone's is only a 4- or 5-block walk. When the weather's nice, like today, it's my first choice for lunch. I eat here probably 2 or 3 times a week, and I don't come just for the patio. The food is great, especially to Pollo (chicken) dishes. Note: the cream sauce on the enchiladas is a bit heavier than other places, but it's very tasty. I just mention that to set your expectation. But this place isn't cheap -- averages $15 or $16 after tip for lunch plates (sans alcohol) -- so I wouldn't give this place the priority I do if the food weren't all that. The food *is* all that, and the perks are the patio, atmosphere, and people scenery. I see lots of other regulars here, and the place is always packed, so don't give too much weight to the negative reviews here. This is a great place for a business or social lunch. Another plus is that you may see other Midtown places on the same block that you'd like to try!
- Pros: Food, margaritas, outdoor dining, scenery
- Cons: Bright outside (don't forget your sunglasses!)
Just average

We have been to this joint a few times. I am not exactly sure what the big deal is. If you are here to enjoy the ambience, be cool, and people-watch, then yes, it is probably for you. The drinks are strong and the atmosphere is nice and trendy, but the food is average at best (note my star rating). Therefore, my point is: the margaritas are very strong which makes the food irrelevant.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Food
Great food, best ceviche and excellent crab nachos
by LaPatrona at Citysearch
My friends broughht me here last night for my birthday and I was totally satisfied with the service and the food we ordered. We had the ceviche, which was great because it had the lemon juicevinaigrette, but no tomato juice which in my opinion kills the taste of the fish; the crab nachos were sooo unique-I never would have combined the fresh crabmeat with the black refried beans and deliciously melted white cheese! We also had fajita meat and chicken quesadillas...
I also had the pleasure of sampling their tres leches cake, which usually consists several types of milk consistancies poured into a white cake with a refined sugar and whipped cream icing-very rich! Cyclone Anaya's was really good because it also had cinnamon sprinkled over it.
The bar was congested, but it was Friday night and should be expected. There was two bartenders, so maybe adding another bartender would work a little better.
We were seated within their speculated timeframe(30 min), using our cell phones, which is different, yes, but prudent....Do you want to hold your drink, your handbag annnd a blinking device?
Pricewise, I couldnt tell you because I was not allowed to look at the menu, but the girls all said we did goood for the appetizers and dessert that was ordered, and believe me we are not of the Hilton clan that would waste money, but have enjoyed inexpensive as well as expensive establishments, and can appreciate deatil to service and quality of food compared to price....try spending about $400 in sushi and drinks when Mantra was a restaurant for a group of six(which was delicious then, too.)
Overall, I enjoyed this place and will be coming back for brunch!
The staff was very friendly and attentive, my personal opinion is that if you are complaining in a busy atmosphere, may be you have the attitude and this place may not be the best place suited for you.
- Pros: Great establishment overall
- Cons: Bar can get too crowded may need additional bar staff...only thing missing is room for live music!
original food so tasty it leaves you wanting more

Okay, so I read all the bad reviews on here and was shocked because my experiences have always been outstanding as far as the food there. My husband and I live in midtown and have been going to Cyclone Anaya's for about the last year, at least once a month. In the past, we had decent service (at best) but the place is so busy and our waiters were always hispanic so we just chalked it up to a slight language barrier...until we got Kim. She is funny and is always so friendly that we used to come back for the food, but now we come back for the food AND Kim. If you think the food is bad, you are crazy, so just go somewhere else so my hubby & I don't have to wait so long for a table. Are you there for food or service?
- Pros: the ritas are wicked strong, Kim is a great server, we can walk to the place from home
- Cons: the long wait, it's HOT in the place, a little pricey for mexican food
Mediocrity at best...

Location is great, but DO NOT GO on a Thurs-Sat night unless you want to wait for 1-2 hours! NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! Ok food and drinks, that's all. I have lived in Midtown for 3 years, and the area is getting too crowded. I guess people drive in from the hood or wherever they live so the can go to a "cool" restaurant in Midtown. Well let me tell you people, that it isn't "cool" once everyone knows about it! So do all the residents of midtown a favor and stay in your own neighborhood! This restaurant is just AVERAGE, with poor service, OVERCROWDING, and the diverse non-resident crowd is super OBNOXIOUS!!!!!
- Pros: I can walk there from my house.
- Cons: Should be more selective with their clientele...they will let ANYONE in this place!
