I've boarded my dog twice here, and have been very happy with everything. I got emails every day that showed my dog playing with other dogs, and it really made me feel glad I left him there. He usually boards in a place that kennels them and I would pay for two play times for an additional $20 a day. It ended up costing me over $56 to board him there, and he only got to play for about an hour! He gets over 10 hours a day of playtime here and they didnt charge extra for his special diet. That really made me happy to. I thought the place was clean and set up great for a big dog like my dog. He loves to fly up and down the mats in the play area, just going crazy! I actually saw him doing it twice when I watched the monitor up front, so I know he loves it. We haven't had any problems so far, so I'm surprised by the bad reviews. I cant think of any bad things except that I live in Clear Lake City and it's far for me to drive there, but every time I board him, he's going to be boarding there. I really liked it and he does to.
Pros: No extra charges for play time or special diet. Clean.
Cons: Far from my house

I took my two dogs there for four weeks. They went three times a week. I wanted them to get used to other dogs and people because we were going out of town for 12 days. They loved it., We're so glad we went and so happy with how they did. We had pictures every day and I felt so happy to know they were happy too. The other people who said the place was dirty or in a bad part of town must have been at a different place. It was spotless, clean, well-heated, and the parking was easy. We never felt the least bit scared to leave our cars unlocked. I never saw guys hanging around smoking. In fact the local businesses around the Mutt Hutt were all really nice boat-related things like sail makers and very nice cars and people were going to and from them. It was really easy for us to find and was very convenient for us too. Make no mistake: Judge for yourself and give them a try because we are still taking our two dogs there once a week, and they start barking and jumping the minute we turn on the road. The owner and staff are very nice and very professional, and our dogs seem to love them too. I really think the bad reviews must have been written by people who's dogs didn't pass their entrance test. That's all I can figure because none of what they say is the slightest bit true. Well the part about the toys everywhere is true. They have playground toys set up for the dogs to play on LOL.
Pros: Very easy to get to, love the pictures every day
Cons: Wish we had found them sooner

I live in the Dallas area but my parents live in Seabrook and my dog stayed with them for a week. My dog went to the Mutt Hut twice that week and seems to favor this place over the doggie day care facility he goes to regularly in Dallas. We were a little concerned at first with him attending a new doggie day care, but the owner was GREAT. His first day there, she kept us updated throughout the day with emails and pictures. He received a report card at the end of the day telling us who he played with and activities he participated in that day. More importantly, my dog didn't want to leave when it came time to be picked up! Another thing that really impressed me was that each dog has to be observed before being allowed to participate in day care. The facility we take our dog to in Dallas does not do this. I left him knowing that he would be in good hands and surrounded by other friendly dogs. I was really impressed with this place and plan on taking my dog there whenever we are in town.

As someone who has been taking their dog to dog daycares, pet spas, and grooming facilities for over 20 years, I have never seen a more disgusting place advertising itself as a pet-friendly establishment before checking out the mutt hut. I was sorely dissapointed and revolted by the conditions and the way I was treated. The other unfavorable comments are dead on and the ones that sound like they are recommending it, have obviously been bought by/written by the owner or her staff. It would be one thing if the place was charging a lot less than the competition, but the charges for services are in fact higher in some cases, so I am baffled as to who would actually pay to leave their dog here when there are many much nicer places in the area!!!
Pros: I could leave
Cons: Everything

There is a post on here from a disgruntled ex-employee who was terminated due to her lack of judgment. Obviously she was terminated for good cause, because she continues to exhibit poor judgment by posting fraudulent reviews. I ask that you call and speak with me personally or alternatively, visit my facility or visit our website. You will see that the facility is clean, friendly, professionally staffed, and your dog's safety and health are taken seriously. Judge for yourself before taking to heart ANY reviews -- negative or positive. I treat all dogs as if they were my own, both in terms of health and safety, as well as concern for any problems or issues they may have. I go to great lengths to keep the lines of communication open with my customers by not only emailing if there is a potential problem, but also calling and finally sending home notes. In this "triple coverage" manner, I ensure that all problems are brought to the owner's attention. I use environmentally-friendly and animal-friendly cleaning products in my facility as yet another step to ensure the safety of the dogs. If you have any questions about any aspect of dog daycare or boarding, PLEASE contact The Mutt Hut or visit our website at www.TheMuttHut cc

I saw an ad in the paper for daycare, and took my dog in for the first day. She had a great time, and I was really happy to get a tired & happy dog back at the end of the day. I have taken her about every two weeks since the first day, and she's having a great time. Now, whenever I drive anywhere near the place, she starts whining because she's so excited to go there. I wish I could take her more, but my work hours don't allow me. I really liked it. It was always clean and the people there were friendly. I thought the report cards were cute too!
Pros: My dog loves the place
Cons: I wish they were open later so on my late days at work I could bring her.

This was the worst experience ever. I am new to the area. Where we are from my dog would board occasionally at my vets office for thunderstorm anxiety. So when I saw the ad for this place I thought "GREAT", boy was I wrong. The employee I dealt with was very rude. She acted like they were way too busy to fool with me. After my dog stayed there she acted so scared and skittish for days, and she is normally a very energetic and happy dog. I would not recommend to anyone! I gave it one star, but that is really being to kind.
Pros: It seemed to be a nice facility
Cons: Where do I start

I would not recommend the Mutt Hut to ANYONE. There are plenty of other boarding & grooming facilities, such as Barkington Inn, where the owner does not write their own reviews on message boards.

I was a little hesitant to try dog daycare. I thought my friend was losing her mind when she suggested I try it. I went there expecting some kind of weird deal. It was far from that. The people there really cared. They were constantly telling me how my dog was doing, what problems she may be having adjusting, if she was having elimination issues, and we even got a report card telling us how she did in "school." My dog loves to go there and we go about twice a month. I wish they were closer, but other than that, I love the place. Can't recommend it enough. They're very nice, and it always smells clean! (I work for an aerospace contractor and am not the owner. I have a dog that comes there about once every two weeks).
Pros: Caring educated staff. Very clean facility. Lots of toys and playground equipment
Cons: Far from my house, but that's about it!
