O'cajcen is NO.1
by jeannie nguyen
Actually,I am not from Texas but I have been here for visiting many times, and Crawfish was my favorite food ever. I have tried many places in Houston, but I strongly recommended this restaurent. Last time , when I am been here it was under old owner and the service was awful. Surprisingly It is now under new management, the new owner and staffs are very nice , and most of all the foods are awesome. They are tasty and always hot. I do not recommend floyd, baytown's seafood, but O'cajcen. Also, the new owner had put in new decoration. It is a great place for you , you friends, and your family to come.
- Pros: foods, service, good prices
What happened here - this used to be a great place to eat !

Food was ok- but don't think I'll ever go back.
When they were out of the crawfish we came for, we should have done ourselves a favor and left.
The waiter / owner was extremely rude to us when there was a confusion about our order. We had a large table (there were about 10 of us) so I did not expect perfection.. and did not complain when our salad came out after our meal or when some of us got our meals at least 10 minutes before the others at the table.. but the couple waiting on us were arguing with us, arguing with each other..berated us and continually argued with us for order mixups. They even mistakenly gave one of our plates to someone at the table behind us and after they started to eat it, the waiter snatched it away from them and then put it on our table! Someone with such a short fuse and ill temperment should not be in the front of the restaurant around customers.. it was a very chaotic, uncomfortable, unpleasant evening.. When the food came it was good, but we were a little to upset to enjoy the family dinner we had planned. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: Terrible service
Pearland Cajun restaurant for spicy crawfish and other Creole seafood classics.
by Contributor
With its relaxed Bayou-style decor, this family-owned Cajun eatery skips the rowdy, bar atmosphere common at other similar restaurants. The owners (who moved to the Houston area from New Orleans) know their boiled crawfish, and during the spring season, pounds and pounds of these spiced-to-order mudbugs leave the kitchen. Other menu favorites include seafood gumbo, po-boys, seafood combo platters, etouffee, grilled seafood and fried platters with shrimp, oysters, catfish and alligator. Lunch specials include a free soda or tea. Bottled beer only.
Best In Houston

My husband and I are both from Louisiana and both really love crawfish!! We have eaten at many other "cajun" places and no other compares to O'cajcens. I agree with the review said the crawfish need to be cleaned out and the dead ones certainly need to go. There has been a few times when the majority of our 5 lb order has been dead but I must say it has gotten much better. We always order EXTRA spicy and rarely have to add more of our own seasoning. Oh and the staff is relaxed and for the most part they are good. Hurry because crawfish season is almost over and you have to try this place!! THE SEASONING IS IN THE WATER HERE!!!!!!!!!!. I do not recommend Floyds, Woodrows, Magnolia Bar and Grill, Sam's Boat or any other place for crawfish! GO TO O'CAJCEN'S
- Pros: Good Crawfish, Good Service
- Cons: Bad Location
Cold lacking flavor crawfish
by mike6453
We recently went to dine at this place, and I must admit, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. The crawfish we got were cold, and flavorless, the beers were warm,...we ordered five pounds, and only recieved 3, and were told that they had run out, but would have more in about 45 min. Now had these been good, we would have waited, but these mudbugs did not in any way rise to the "O'Cajcen" The service was good, and we left the kid a good tip, but here's one for the cooks,....PURGE your crawfish, use a little more seasoning, and for god sakes, watch for the dead ones,...half the ones we got had been dead before they saw the water. And the fried pickles need to be a little more FRIED. The ones we received were nothing more than soggy mush around a pickle. I am a restaurant owner/chef, and am probably a little more critical than some,...but this was just a little too much. Hopefully this posting will do some good.
- Pros: good, attentive servers
- Cons: food quality

O'cajuns crawfish is Second TO NONE!!! Since they have opened I have not been able to get enough of their flavorful crawfish... They add just the right spice. I have tried other places in Houston but nothing compares to Ocajuns in Pearland. Its definitely worth a try to make a drive out to Pearland . Trust me you will keep coming back for more!
- Pros: parking, price, and CRAWFISH
The BEST Cajun Cuisine!
by hawkinsg
From the moment you walk into O' Cajcen you get the impression that you've been suddenly teleported to the heart of Louisianna. The ambiance of the restaraunt coupled with the "down home" smell of each dish makes a pleasurable dining experience. I've been there over 30 times since they've opened and each time has been an enjoyable event. The employees are very nice and helpful and the prices are reasonable. For true Cajun Cuisine -- what more could you ask for?
- Pros: Great food; Great Service; Great Prices; Great Location
- Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Friendly service and good food

Let's get to the point.
Go to O'cajcen for:
1. Great food. We enjoy the shrimp and oysters. They will cook to your preference ie. lightly fried.
2. Good service. This is a family business, so they really give you personal service. Food is brought out promptly.
3. Relaxing. The atmospher is peaceful where you can actually carry on a conversation. I enjoy that it is not crowded.
4. Price. They have reasonable prices especially lunch specials.
5. Parking. Never a parking problem.
6. Rewards. The restaurant rewards loyal customers by rewarding points for purchases.
And the winner is O'CAJCEN'S
