I will be totally honest when I write this. I am not here to bash joel;however,I will tell you that he is lier. I don't think he really means to lie so much it is only of his nature..Joel can be nice at times when he believes he is making money. Sure there are customers who will be pleased because the trucks are nice and we all did look presentable and who isnt nice to thier pts? Joel really thinks highly of his supervisor lon when this fellow gets paid 20 an hr and the other paramedics do triple the work and get considerably less pay. If I was a supervisor I would go out and PR,Clean up the office maintainthe trucks and help out my team. No not this one he sits there and delegates the calls so he is on the couch playing tetris...dispatch says joel wants him around in case a micu call drops...what the heck is all the other paramedics? chop liver? joel will so deny this for he does not play favor, he claims, after countless remarks from employees...I dont mind working and I feel every company needs growth and it is very well possible that cornerstone can achieve this but not with that sexual harrasing no good supervisor there who is nothing but a snitch...the trailer is fowl and sure it cant take your cert away to work there, but for a man to make so much money and not provide better should only show you greed. salary is decent this is true but not worth the anxiety and uncaring heart of a lying man who claims to be christian..I am a christian and this is why I am trying not to be so cold. but If you are a new medic please try somewhere else first or you will be burned out fast...911 is the best job that you can perform and you will not get much experience there. Greed is the drive here. he had a pt. get regular ins. over medicare due to more money in his pocket and the ins. was paid from his ss. left him with little...sure he paid some of the apt. and phone. well when this pt. lost ins. he lost the pt..oh yeah he did transport for free a little..how nice of him. he also told me he met the pt. at church..the pt. said no he never went to church with joel he met when he was transported home from a facility...wow...if you work there it is for greed, or the hopes to make it a better place. and I would have loved to do so but the chosen supervisor would not allow such for he claims to have made them trucks nice and is the reason for success.. How is that lon by sitting on your caboose and making easy money when everyone else were slaves. we get that enough from our govt. god bless you all and i wish you happy job seeking. we are adults and should be treated as such!!!

Good company

I'VE BEEN WORKING HERE FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW AND NONE OF "RATHERBEJOBLESS" SAID IS TRUE. ITS THE OPPOSITE. JOEL CARES A LOT FOR HIS EMPLOYEES. I KNOW WHO THIS GUY IS. HE GOT FIRED WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT DOING WHAT HE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO DO. I WILL NOT DISCUSS THE REASON BUT ITS PRETTY BAD. HE GOT CAUGHT!!!

CORNERSTONE IS HONEST AND IN NO WAY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR ANYTHING.

"RATHERBEJOBLESS" IS LYING. JOEL NEVER ASKED ANYONE TO LIE.ITS THE OPPOSITE. THIS KID IS FOULMOUTH AND I WAS WITH HIM WHEN HE DID THE CRAZY THING THAT GOT HIM FIRED.

I rather be jobless than work here. I just left two months ago and it was the best move of my life. If you walk into the dump, the station, you will become sick just from the mold and rodents running around. No joke, when I worked there I would see at least 1 a week. The pay is decent but not considering on how you get treated. The owner Joel, dosn't care at all about the employees, he will tell you what you want to here to your face but thats it. He will fire you if your late to a call which is there falut, cause you are always running 1-2 hrs behind, which make's you look bad, and it's because of Brandy the incompitent dispatcher who is fat and lazy. There is no scheduale, Joel will either send you a text message or call you at 11 o'clock or so at night for you to be there at 6 or 7 in the morning. Joel has personally asked me and other employees to falseify reports just so he can get paid. He is a snake, he cares about know one but himself. He has a "superviosor" LON, who is a worthless and lazy does nothing but lay around on the couch for 10hrs a day and tell the dispatcher to give the call to another crew so he dosn't have to do it. If you even care about your life or family, you will NOT work here or even consider it. The trucks are desent but nobody ever cleans them. I would rather pay someone's bills for them so they wouldn't have to go and work there and deal with Joel. He is already under review by TDH and others on falsifing reports. You cant even imagine how bad this guy is. Joel will have you take a long distance trip overnight and expect you to take the pt. there and return right back after being on the truck for 8-12hrs already, then expect you to pay to put fuel in the truck just so you can make it back. This place is a JOKE. You will run your butt off and get treated like dirt. I can not express enough, that you must never work/ consider working here. Please DO NOT WORK HERE! I wouldn't work here if you held a gun to my head and tried making me.

Cornerstone, a bad choice!

I was a previous employee at this non organized, dumpy,insect and vermin infestation, and mold ridden facility that is operated out of a what should be a condemned mobile home that reaks of mold and mildew! The owner, Joel Tiglao, is a con artist that falsifies pt run documents, as I have witnessed from a personal stand point. The response times for picking up patients was extremely terrible and anywhere from 1 to 2 hrs late for scheduled patients. The owner has no respect for facilities, pts, and employees. He has told many employees that are transporting pts to facilities for dr appts and just leave them and go to transport another. The dispatcher, Brandy has no proper knowledge on dispatching or utilizing the units to the proper facilities and never gives you the mandatory pt info that is required. As for the 5 star comments on how nice this company is, those people need to put down the rose colored glasses, because this is by far the worst private ambulance service that I was ever employed at! The trucks, however are decent, but everything else is trashy and unprofessional. At least Northstar is organized and are one of the top transfer companies in the greater region and doesnt expect their medics to lay around in an unclean working environment!

I've used several ambulance company for my mother and I must say that Cornerstone is the best. Easy to deal with, very honest(even gave me a big discount - the lowest rate anywhere and refunded me my money 3k when got paid), owner Joel very nice, staff corteous and looks sharp and ,friendly, ambulance looks great. Will alwyas use Cornerstone . Highly recommended

Great looking ambulances & good looking uniform. Yes, station is old - they said they are building. They own property. Left cornerstone not their fault but wanted to come back-but no opening. I like cornerstone, most that worked there do, but Joel the owner too easy n too niceand medics abuse him and then he fires em. Heck, i can't find a salary rate higher than theirs.Now , how can you loose your license working for cornerstone just because their station is old???? their units are the best- clean and brand new. Many clients and facilities lives cornerstone. I saw that firsthand while working there..this is what isay..if you cannot work for cornerstone-then you cannot work anywhere,peace.

best ambulance company

i'm a returning employee to cornesrstone.most employees are returning ones.you leave cornerstone and i found out after working for few "top' ambulance company, cornerstone is the best for me. pays the highest salary in the business and relax treatment of employees unlike others where you cannot sit down for five minutes. they just purchased a property that explains the old trailer.they have the newest fleet in the business. 4out 5 are brand new and the uniform is the best.

the bashing is just not true.brandy, the dispatcher is one of the nicest dispatcher out there- period..call them and you'll prove me right.joel the owner is the nicest man you'll ever meet- you can ask the people that knows him.he is a man of highest integrity.sad to say but many emts are very unprofessional- after3 months of easy school they start making good money.i've seen them come and go- most have no work ethics.

cornerstone is not perfect, but the best palce to work for me.

i ask the bashers . who in the northside or houston is better than cornerstone overall...you may say northstar--maybe--try to work there and you see how you do 20 calls in one day.

Conerstone EMS is located in a run down , smelly, old trailer. I went there for an interview and decided i didnt want to loose my state certification so i dipped out. Boss is rude and never ever calls you back when you need him. They dont want to pay a little more money on their premium so you have to be 23 to work there. The lady in their "dispatch" , by the way dispatch in located in like a bathroom, is not the brightest crayon in the box. If you like your state certification STAY AWAY. The pay is also not that good!!!!!

Working conditions terrible. Boss doesn't respect you. Cornerstone is located in a trailer that should be condemned. Rarely are they ever on time. Brandy is rude on the phone and sounds incompetent. The only good thing about this company is the trucks work.
