great refuge in the heights to have a beer and meet with friends. Great location for Heights sports fans!

Cool lil heights sports bar

this place is like cheers for heights locals. the usuals go in daily like any bar in the usa but with $2 martinis on wednesday and friday's weekend warrior kickoff night, at least those 2 days seem really cool. i love that you can sit in your own little sectio of couches and watch your own tv. makes a great place to watch the astros for the summer i think. you can bring you dog on the patio but few ever do. restroom are clean and so is the atmosphere of the bar. unlike many other popular bars in the heights they serve liquor drinks along with beer and wine which makes it nice for a change of pace. living near by makes onion creek and this place my 2 favs for heights style bar lounging. yep

• Cons: run out of stuff sometimes

Smoke Stack in the Heights!

This establishment has obviously found a way to worm around the new "no smoking" ordinance--a regular sports bar claiming to be an authentic "cigar bar" and allowing cigarette smoking to the point that when you visit the Heights SPORTS AND SOCIAL LOUNGE (not "the Heights Cigar Bar") you can expect to be surrounded by every displaced smoker/barfly in the general vicinity, and the atmosphere is to be expected--pool tables, lots of smoke and drooling drunks. I called the city to get a list of true cigar bars that meet the new city ordinance, but was told that they do not have that list available yet but will in the near future. I will pursue this further, as I do not believe that this is all on the up and up.

My New Favorite Bar!

Granted, this is my first visit, but I'm here right now and loving it. Just moved to the heights, looking for an unpretentious spot for the wifi. So, in addition to the wifi it turns out that the staff has been more personable than anyplace else we've been, the drinks are great, nice casual layout, one of the staff just came by to ask what we'd like her to change the music to, and (insert drum roll here) dog friendly! I wish I'd known so I coulda brought my pooch! No big deal there...cause there will most definitely be a next time for that!

BTW, I'm a girl and I don't smoke cigars. This place just plain rocks.

A mature, mostly male-dominated atmosphere caters to cigar and sports enthusiasts alike with laid-back ease. A stocked humidor provides that extra something special for a guys night out, along with all the requisite broadcast sports subscriptions. More than a dozen beers on tap as well as an adequate whiskey selection also provides something for every taste.
