Exceptional Job!
by midtownchin
I was completely satisfied with how the work was performed. Universal Wiring gave my home the red carpet treatment, the technician even wore shoe coverings! I will be using these guys again and refering my friends.
- Pros: Now I remember what great customer service feels like!
- Cons: What cons?
Good experience
by cdentler
Electrical issues in your home can be a little frightening, so it was a relief to have Universal Wiring come out as quickly as they did. The electrician they sent, Eric, was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient -answering all questions, and giving me zero BS (no upselling). I had an outlet replaced, and found the price to be very reasonable. Will use them again if there are other issues.
Great all-around service
by misha651
We chose Universal Wiring to help diagnose a simple problem. Turns out a previous contractor had mis-wired a repair! The technician spent over an hour diagnosing the problem and then cheerfully fixed it. Matthew is professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. He is prompt and displays the utmost respect for our home. All potential charges were explained at the beginning, and no work is done before the customer gives approval. He answered all our questions competently. I would definitely recommend Universal Wiring to anyone need competent electrical service and will absolutely use them in the future! Thank you so much for taking great care of us!
- Pros: Prompt, professional, knowledgeable electrical service. Great attitude. Reasonable Fees
- Cons: None
Wonderful technician
by iwmdlm
We were impressed with Matt's appearance and competence, as well as his attitude and explanation of what he was to do. It was really nice to have someone who clearly takes pride in his work and enjoys it. I thought the price was reasonable for the quality of the work done. I know that the company will be there to handle any and all of my electrical problems.
- Pros: Great service tech and work
- Cons: -
BEWARE--GOUGERS!
by JADOCAR
Don't do it! I saw some good reviews, and the owner's seemingly honorable rebuttal of what he perceived as a bogus review...so, I gave 'em a chance. I now question whether the "good" reviews were legit. Don't get me wrong--I didn't have them do the work because I got that "I've been slimed" feeling that one often leaves a car dealership, with when the technician/salesperson arrived. The kid they sent deliberately tried to isolate me from my AC guy who was also doing work--obviously because he felt he could pull the wool over my eyes more easily outside the presence of a legitimate contractor. The "by the job" pricing resulted in an estimate of approximately $4900 (including bogus "$200 discount if we do the work today") to put in a new electric panel and run wire to the new AC unit. I guess they get suckers from time to time who's desperate need for power drives them to pick the first contractor on site and who are naive enough to think that Universal will treat them fairly. Frankly, I resent the attempt to GOUGE me and no doubt, the more desperate, less informed older folks who have the misfortune of coming across thier ad. I suggest that the public avoid this sort of unprincipled business like the plague. Furthermore, I resent paying $60 for an estimate that was 2.5 X greater than multiple bids provided by licensed electricians! Screw me?...Screw you! To the owner: I dare you to deny these FACTS (I've got a copy of the bloated estimate)...and challenge you to return my $60 fee--but, I won't hold my breath because that would necessitate "honorable" behavior on your part. I'll let everyone know if that happens. Be careful out there.
- Pros: Nice uniforms
- Cons: Rip offs!

They DEMAND superior service and expertise. Our obligation to our customers is to quote the job accurately using our written pricing system which the customer approves before we start the work. Be careful out there. All Electricians need to earn the same. Low bidders pass off less work or shortcuts as a lower price; they may not have a contractor license, insurance, payroll taxes, employee background and drug screens; or may go out of business and not provide a true warranty. We have been in business since 1992, offer a 3 year warranty and a LIFETIME manufacturer?s warranty on panels. We won the BBB Award of Excellence and Angie?s List Super Service award 2 years in a row and offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee; if he was not happy he did not have to pay the dispatch fee; or he could have called and requested a refund. By the way, his technician, who is licensed with 5 yrs exp. moved away because the ?A/C guy? was drinking, obnoxious and interrupted with incorrect electrical advice.
Very Professional

I was very pleased with the technician, Will, and will call anytime i have a problem with my electrical. He perfomed the work in a timely manner, and told me thoroughly what work he was going to perform.
- Pros: Great attitude and appearance
- Cons: Can't think of any!
Use them!
by simmeoalex21
The technician arrived when they said he would, even called when he was on his way to confirm. Answered all my questions, and told me upfront what he was going to do. Fixed my problem completly, and the price wasn't too bad. I will use them again whenever i have another electrical problem.
- Pros: Great service and attitude
- Cons: Nothing
Avoid this Company
by FredGro11
I called them out on a Thursday, they cancelled several times, and finally showed up on the following Tuesday.
The man they sent was a kid, really, maybe 18.
He charged my wife $ 360.00 for "troubleshooting" an outlet that did not work.
The next day the outlet was smoking, so my wife called another company and they were there within an hour, and fixed the problem for $ 200.00
This kid even asked my wife out on a date!
We will never use this company again, poor service, refused to answer my comlaint, the owner was un available, the unlisenced tech( the guy had no electrical license, said only the owner needed one).
- Pros: Coupon
- Cons: Everything

Creating a great customer service experience requires knowing your customers. I work in the office everyday and review every job and handle all feedback and complaints personally. I want to address several issues with this comment: Though we do have schedule issues sometimes, punctuality is so important that we give $50 toward the job if we are later than the scheduled time. All of our work is 100% guaranteed so if we complete a repair and the customer is unsatisfied with the work, we will refund all of their money. Finally, all of our technicians have a minimum of 5 years experience; are licensed with the State of Texas; go through prehire drug screens and background checks. My wife and daughter run the company along side me. A person who is capable of indescretion would not be hired or would be terminated immediately. 75% of our customer interaction is with women and we take the safety of our customers very seriously.
