I am a native Houstonian and have been going to Jon Henderson to cut and color my hair since he was cited in the best of Allure Magazine several years back. He is by far the best colorist and hair stylist I have ever been to and I am VERY picky!! I consistently get complements on my color, it is as close to my real color as anyone has ever been able to do. Jon is VERY reliable to give you a wonderful cut and color every time you go and is a very nice guy too! He even did my color in nyc when he was visiting there one time (at the Y!)--I was living in nyc at the time and refused to let anyone but Jon touch my hair. Talk about accommodating! He has a very loyal clientele base and I highly recommend going to him at Petit Chateau--you will not regret it.

First, I called this place to get a pricing on eyebrow waxing. Over the phone, they quoted me $12 a person. I booked an appointment for both my sister and myself. After we had both gotten our eyebrows waxed (and I got my lip waxed too), the lady said the total bill was $55. Needless to say, we were confused why the bill was so high so we asked for a breakdown of the price. She said that the eyebrow wax cost $20...each (and $15 for lip wax). We explained that we got quoted $12 on the phone but she wouldn't do anything about it. She, again, said it was $20 and left it at that. We had to pay the full bill. My sister usually has flawless skin and doesn't break out in pimples. Over the next couple of days, both my sister and I noticed that we were breaking out/developing rashes where she had waxed us. Our eyebrows and upper lip are itchy and have tiny red bumps where she applied the wax. DO NOT GO HERE! They will totally rip you off as well as give you an unpleasant rash.

Pros: Nice eyebrow shaping.

I have been using Jon Henderson to cut and color my hair for more years than I can count. With marriage and children I've moved to the 'burbs but will still trek to Petit Chateau to have Jon do my hair. I know exactly what I'll get each time I see him...a superb haircut and highlights. I receive so many compliments on my hair and have sent many "stranger" referrals to Jon. Believe me, I've tried to find another stylist closer to home but after every search I wind up going back to Jon so he can "fix" the bad haircuts / highlights. Jon's the ultimate professional...you won't be disappointed!

I thought I would have green hair forever after my last highlights, until I heard about Jon Henderson. I saw a woman in the produce section at Whole Foods with the most amazing hair. She told me about Jon. He has been cited in Allure Magazine, among others, as one of best stylist and colorist in Houston. She assured me that he could get the green out of my hair, and he did. I can not say enough great things about Jon. Jon requested a consultation prior to booking for a color correction in order to establish pricing, timing and goals, which were apparent -- "get the green out." I came back the next day for my appointment. I was glad that I had come for the consultation because we had to book more time for my appointment and I knew approximately what the visit would cost. Like a dream . . . Jon gave me the perfect shade of blonde and an amazing haircut, and then sent me away with an array of fantastic Aveda products. A great day.

Veronica styled my hair for my wedding, let's just say she did an awesome job. she was there on time, she took her time with my hair and made sure it will stay still the entire time(which it did). my hair looked awesome for 10 hours(untill i took it down). she even gave me her hair spray and bobby pins in case i wanted to touch up my hair. she also gave me a hair cut a week before the wedding (best hair cut in my life)

Pros: she knows what she's doing

I would highly recommend Petit Chateau. Monique de los Santos has done my hair for a couple of years now. She is highly competent and knows color! She also does a great job with cuts and styles. Every time Monique has colored and/or cut my hair I've been pleased. She's willing to try new things, but also respects me when I lean more toward the conservative side. Monique has a great personality and is always good about fitting me in. I wish her and Veronica the very best with Petit Chateau. The salon/spa is very appealing. It is very relaxing and comfortable. I also love the boutique-ish items they have for sale. The cute stylish outfits and hair accessories are "must have's!" Visiting Petit Chateau is just what one needs when they need a little pampering.

I have been all over Houston and have had my haircut and color by the supposed best of the best. But nothing compares to the way Veronica Bruce and her staff made me feel and look. First, I was greated by a very nice receptionist who made me feel right at home. Then, I had a seat in their beautiful waiting area, it is very elegant. I wish my house looked like this. Next, I met Veronica Bruce. She guided me through what she was going to do and communicated well. She began coloring my hair a Chesnut Brown and then cut it. The result are OUTSTANDING!!!!. I used my coupon from CitySearch and have never been so happy with my hair. I am glad I read the reviews here on CitySearch. Trust me, you will not be dissappointed with the service you get here!

For the first time ever, I decided to visit a salon based entirely on Citysearch reviews instead of getting recommendations of friends. I was very pleasantly surprised about the place, the people, and the entire experience. It definitely does have a "homey" feel, but by no means does it feel like you are in someone's house. The environment is clean, professional, and comfortable. I was a few minutes late to my appointment, but was not made to feel guilty at all, which earns them bonus points in graciousness. My haircut and highlights were exactly what I wanted, which is incredible since I am notoroiously bad at communicating what I want out of my hair. The price was about average for a higher-end salon. I see where it might seem like a bit much, considering the atmosphere does not convey that "high end" feel... but I would much rather pay the same amount to get a good haircut at a smaller, attentive salon such as this, instead of getting a mediocre haircut at a place with a higher profile and less depth of talent.

I recently moved here from Dallas and was very hesitant about trying a new salon but based on the reviews here on city search I decided to try Petit Chateau. I made an appointment because I needed serious color correction. My highlights were way overprocessed and my hair had been damaged. My appointment was booked with Joya. She was wonderful! She took her time and did a fantastic job! My hair looks very natural now and I am thrilled with how it looks. I would highly recommend Petit Chateau to anyone.

I just went into this salon from the recommendations here on Citysearch. I had Veronica Bruce cut and highlight my blonde hair. These are the most natural looking highlights I have ever had. This lady really knows hair, I am so excited about my hair. I went home after work and my husband even commented how much he liked my hair. Trust me that does not happen after a haircut, he usually never comments. I fully recommend Veronica Bruce for a Cut and Highlights.
