Horrible acoustics

This place can be great if the owners just did something about the poor sound quality. I've been to about 6 or 7 concerts here, each time hoping that they would have fixed their sound problem, but I was disappointed every time.

The bare concrete walls combined with the large vacuous space make the acoustics absolutely terrible. The sound system is not properly adjusted to the space. There needs to be some padding on the ceiling and walls.

Until they fix the sound problem, I don't think I'll be spending my cash any more shows here. Its been far too disappointing seeing band after band that I like and not be able to hear the vocals.

my favorite venue in Houston!

I love this venue- and I'm not sure why everyone has such a problem with it. I've been to shows at nearly every other venue in the city and Warehouse is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest! The space is pretty clean, no long bar or bathroom lines, the smoking area is outside, yes but that is a citywide regulation, and it's probably 20 feet outside the front door- no big deal. What I like about this place is that they don't have some lame occupancy restriction on the smoking area like HOB. There's always enough space to duck outside for a smoke and it's only crowded between sets. The a/c and ventilation is awesome- I can jump around and get into the show without sweating to death. If you're a local, you KNOW how important good a/c is in Houston, and how often some venues neglect it. Whatever, I just love this place- I never feel overcrowded, suffocated, or generally annoyed when I go to shows at the Warehouse...I wish I could say the same for other places (HOB *cough cough*)

No place to sit

There is no place to sit at all. Maybe I'm too old for live music, but I'm not going to stand for 5 hours, even to see Lucinda Williams. i don't know about acoustics or anything else because i left as soon as i saw it was a bare concrete floor with no chairs. At least it was not hard to get my money back.

Solid place to see the band.

This place is just the right size to see your band. It has very little seating, but the whole place is really like the floor section of a big concert. If your favorite is playing here, it's a really good place to actually see them. Getting drinks can be iffy, I've stepped up and ordered, and been ignored for 30 minutes all when the crowd was about the same.

Live Music Bummer

This place was a huge disappointment in every way. I have frequented enough clubs to know that I really got hosed last night! First and foremost, the sound quality sucked because you're stuck in a cold concrete box devoid of any character or soul. The drink prices are freakin ridiculous: I paid $14.00 for two mixed drinks in tiny 4 ounce plastic cups filled to the brim with ice - a pathetically blatant ripoff to customers!! The main act played just barely over an hour, so the show was over just after midnight. Wow, what a waste of time and money. I can't think of a single reason to go back and don't recommend anyone giving this place their business. This is my 2nd bad experience there and I was hoping they made some improvements since my last ripoff experience. We as consumers need to endorse businesses that make it easy and fun to go there. This place sucked all the fun out of my live music experience; along with my money!

good venue for music

this place is situated on the high second floor of an old industrial building. climbing up the metal fire escape-like stairs to enter, i could feel a nose b---d coming on from the high altitude. i don't know how people in wheelchairs can get in, unless there's an elevator they can open up for them. the staff can be kind of gruff, but basically it's a cool venue. inside it has a gritty, run-down decor. but you come here to listen to music and drink, and it's pretty dark in there so those shouldn't in themselves be a deterrent. there's a front room with a large bar / lounge area, and then a second even larger room with the main stage and concert area and a large bar. you can easily sit (or stand) at the bar the whole show. seating and tables are limited at the back of the room behind where the sound mix guy sits. i liked this place. the show was during ike when most of houston (including me) had no electrical, so people were so happy just to be back to normal for a few hours. one (perhaps) down side is that they line everyone up outdoors along the street before the event, and then they line everyone up on the stars while straightening out who has pre-payed tickets and who needs to use the box office. on an up side to this, it's a good opportunity to people watch some. parking is $5 at a lot they (?) manage. Even if you could, I wouldn't street park in that part of the city at night.

best venue in town! what's the problem?

I really don't know how this place has gotten so many bad reviews. This is, hands down, the best club-level venue in Houston. Both the security and bar staffs are incredibly friendly and do their jobs well. The drinks are reasonably priced. It's exceptionally clean inside, so consider thanking the cleaning staff instead of thinking they are annoying. The sound and lights are generally great, there is seating available in the studio during shows in the ballroom, and they bring in GREAT acts. The only real downfall is the smoking area due to the recent smoking ban, but they are working on that. This is THE best place to see a show in Houston!

Worst venue I've ever been to for a show.

1. They had one guy with a security wand scanning 2000 people and one guy taking tickets as well.

2. The venue is one floor. No flat screens, and the sound quality is horrible. Security guards are NOT nice if you are on the rail and trying to see the stage. Don't expect to actually see the act you paid to see, or hear them for that matter, as the sound quality is horrible.

3. Smoking area is a joke. It's a 10 minute walk to the outside smoking area that's available to patrons and there's no bar available.

4. Buy your tickets for House of Blues in Austin or Dallas and make the drive.. This place is horrible, and it's no wonder that Houston can't attract real talent on a regular basis.

• Pros: Nothing
• Cons: Extremely crowded, no flat screen tvs, awful security and expensive drinks.

Sound Quality is HORRIBLE

Need I say more? Great set-up for a show but you can't hear the guitars or the lyrics. I saw Wolfmother there and an awesome guitar piece could barely be heard because it was overpowered by the bass. G Love was there last night and you could hardly understand any of his lyrics. I really hope the owners read this because something needs to be done to improve the venue.

Poor Customer Service

Watch out for a bartender named HAROLD! He's angry, violent, mean and rude. Description: tall, strong build, black man with dredlocks. His own co-workers even told me he was mean. I saw him be mean to another bartender as well.

I also witnessed him use both hands to push a guy off the bar. The guy never saw it coming. No one could see the stage - the place was packed and this guy (who had been drinking) sat up on the edge of the bar to see the stage. Harold pushed him off, yelled at him to stay off the @?#?$?%bar you ?@?#?$ white boy"! Then he called security and had him thrown out after the 2nd song of the show. The party of 3 all left together and missed the show. The management heard the story and were sorry about it - but no refund was provided and it was a sad situation. BEWARE OF HAROLD!
