All I knew was that my tooth hurt reallllly bad. It was a Friday around 4pm and I couldn't take it anymore. Picked a dentist in the phone book that could see me at that time. Well, she said she could fill it instead of root canal. Sounds great, don't want root canal because that would really hurt, right? She filled it alright, so tight that she split the tooth in half! I remembered several years ago my husband had gone to a dentist for a lot of dental work, including couple root canals, and said he experienced no pain. I made the appointment and am I glad I did. The staff has been so nice. Dr. Nguyen took care of me. He explains everything as he is doing it so there are no surprises. He does everything within his power to make sure you are comfortable and feeling no pain before he begins any procedure and asks during just to make sure you are okay. I have recommended him to several of my friends. His office is about 45 min. from where I live, but well worth the drive.
Pros: makes sure you are feeling no pain!!!!
Cons: location

I had a bad experience with a dentist that I won't go into since childhood, but needless to say I never went to a dentist for a long time. My mouth became an unholy mess of broken teeth, huge cavities and my teeth were a nasty shade of browny/grey. I ended up talking with my hand in front of mouth and I couldn't look straight at people when talking or smiling. One rainy day one of my front teeth broke in half. I was so ashamed of myself. I sat and cried and cried. Now this was it, the final straw. I pulled out Dr. Minh Nguyen’s phone # that I had it forever. He was recommended to me by several good friends . Mr. Minh Nguyen is a GOD. No pain and just a feeling of utter elation that my mouth could be fixed. I left with an appointment and a tick list so could cross things off as they were done and keep an eye on my progress. I have to be honest, after that initial apointment my confidence soared. My first proper treatment session I had 4 broken teeth removed. No pain. Nothing. I was amazed, and continued to be so for the past months. I've had fillings, root canals, extractions. My confidence has increased to the point where I can keep my eyes open as I'm treated! Never thought that would happen. My broken teeth have gone, my cavities filled, and I'm now the proud owner of nice shiney caps on my front teeth,I can smile (and frequently do), I am a different person (so says my friends who have now nicknamed "The Teeth"!!!). Dr. Minh Nguyen is excellent dentist performing surgery, extraction, or anything related to teeth.............AMAZING DOCTOR. Need to check out this amazing dentist, Dr. Minh Nguyen. He is the best in Houston. And one final thing. Dr. Minh Nguyen and HIS wonderful staff are the nicest people and I will recommend to anyone in the Houston area. You've given me my smile back. Thank you!
Pros: first class facility. Nicest people
Cons: none

I discovered Dr. Nguyen about 10 years ago. My wife saw a news story on local television about the advanced technology becoming available for dentistry. I was in my 40's and my dental condition was pretty bad. One tooth was cracked, and it needed a crown right away. Dr. Nguyen not only made my new crown in one visit, but the fit was perfect, and I felt no pain at all. That crown (and all his subsequent work) has been trouble free. Dr. Nguyen not only fixed that problem, but as my "mouth full" of silver fillings have failed over the years, Dr. Nguyen has replaced them with equally fantastic computer machined inlays. With the advanced techniques used by Dr. Nguyen over the years, I still have all my original teeth -- lots of restorations, but everything works great. I have no visible decay now, not a single spec. Only a few of dentists in Houston have the expensive machines capable of grinding crowns and inlays in one visit while you wait. Not only does this require advanced machines, but a specialized computer skill is needed, and Dr. Nguyen has been flawless. He designs the crown on a screen right in front of you. Dr. Nguyen has used many techniques to correct various dental problems I had, like a special abrasive powder drilling machine for thin decay lines, and a laser to help correct gum recession. In each case, the process was painless, and very professional. For the past 10 years, every cleaning has been gentle, and thorough. In all of my previous experiences with other dentist offices, no other experience even comes close. I cannot come up with enough stars to show how grateful I am that I found Dr. Nguyen. A few years ago, I moved out of Houston, and now I have to drive about 45 miles for my appointments with Dr. Nguyen. This is a small inconvenience for the outstanding service I continue to get from Dr. Nguyen and his staff with every visit. I am unsure why some other reviews are so negative, but I am a very happy customer.
Pros: Very clean modern office, lots of advanced techniques.
Cons: Some restorations are more expensive, but worth every penny

I have been taking my family to Dr. Nguyen's office for years (both at the old and new location). He and his staff have been nothing short of professional, caring, and skilled. I have referred many of our friends to his office and all of them have been very pleased with the results. When my daughter had to get her wisdom teeth removed, she was so scared and unwilling to get it done. However, Dr. Nguyen was very patient with her and explained everything to put her at ease. Although her wisdom teeth extractions required a slighty more complicated procedure (since they grew in funny), he skillfully completed the procedure in no time and did not cause her pain at all. We will certainly be coming back to his office as long as we stay in Houston!
Pros: Great and compassionate dentist, friendly staff, great location
Cons: none!

Our family moved to Houston about five years ago from a relatively small town, Chattanooga, TN. I remembered the time we were searching to find a GOOD dentist. It was not an easy thing to do since my wife suffers from dental phobia. We went to a dentist that was close to my area right after we settled in the NW of Houston but this dentist and his whole office were all business like. They were sleazy, clearly trying to sell us everything we don’t need so that by the time we left his office we were so unhappy and disappointed. We were hopping from dentist to dentist until a friend told us that he knew a GOOD, GENTLE, AND CARING dentist and his name was Dr. Minh Nguyen!!!! Dr. Minh Nguyen has “EVERYTHING” we are looking for. As soon as you enter his establishment you will feel a friendly atmosphere. Dr Minh Nguyen is very friendly and will spend time with you. He is a phobic-friendly dentist. I can assure you that Dental phobia counseling on its own is not much use unless you have the right dentist to “cure” you of your phobia. He cures my wife of dental phobia…..NOT ONLY IS HE AN EXCELLENT DENTIST, HE IS ALSO A PSYCHOLOGIST, A COUNSELOR WHO DOES PHOBIAS AND HAS MAGIC HANDS. We are blessed to have Dr. Minh Nguyen as our dentist for life. Please call me at 361-972-7265 about this excellent dentist.
Pros: excellent dentist
Cons: none

Dr. Nguyen performed an emergency crown replacement not long ago that deserves mention. My upper, back molar full crown was discovered to be cracked and leaking during routine cleaning. Dr. Nguyen took photographs of the damaged area and used these photos to discuss various options for the treatment. I decided to utilize the two-hour porcelain crown replacement. Dr. Nguyen utilized drip morphine anesthesia to eliminate any discomfort on my part. The old crown was removed using convential drill methods so as to expose a natural base to attach the new crown upon. The exising tooth was digitally photographed and the imagery downloaded into the computer. The software proceeded to guide a water jet device aimed at a porcelain block in the correct configuration for my existing tooth foundation. Each step of the procedure was described to me by Dr. Nguyen and an opportunity to ask (or rather mumble) questions was allowed. Dr. Nguyen answered all question in a professional, courteous manner. The new porcelain crown was ready after approximately 15 minutes and was then prepared for placement in my mouth. Minor adjustments were made and after a 1 hour and 55 minute period I was back in business. To date, I have experienced no problems (temperature sensitivity, bite or pain) with this tooth. The staff handled the insurance paperwork in a courteous, efficient manner and answered all questions. Dr. Nguyen also gave me as a memento a photo of the broken capped tooth and the new porcelain capped tooth. I am fortunate to have found a professional with Dr. Nguyen's credentials (Texas A & M and UTSA) and demeanor in my hour of need. It is all about trust when you are the one with a cracked/shattered tooth. I trust Dr. Nguyen for all of my family's dental needs (bride, two children and parents), and so should you.
Pros: No pain, quality service and product
Cons: none

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the care that I received from this establishment. I felt like I was discriminated against, and was treated very unprofessionally. My first initial service with Dr. Nguyen was great, and so I referred my husband. He was scheduled to have some fillings and sealants, and when the procedure took less than an hour I wanted to know what services had been done. I questioned a staff member (Claudia) as to what services did he have...sealants or fillings. I know that there is a difference in price (I was a cash paying customer) She was highly offended that I questioned the charges and services performed. As a customer I have the right to know what I am being charge for, and in no way was I attacking the credibility of the dentist. I felt that maybe I was mistakenly charged for fillings and received sealants. During the same visit my husband had an impression done in preparation for cosmetic dentistry. I was informed that I would be contacted in 3 weeks to further complete my dental services. After not hearing from Dr. Nguyen's office I contacted them only to learn from "Ally" that Dr. Nguyen had decided to terminate his services and not complete the job he had started. Imagine my OUTRAGE when "Alley" said that Dr. Nguyen felt offended that I didn't trust his word and questioned the charges. I never spoke with Dr. Nguyen only with Claudia to voice my concerns. After she had assured me that I was correctly charged; I was satisfied with her explanation, and considered the matter resolved. Obviously Claudia spoke with Dr. Nguyen about the situation. I believe that it is very UNPROFESSIONAL of Dr. Nguyen to allow a staff member to handle his customer relationships!! I have never been treated so rude and spoken to so disrespectfully as I was the day "Alley" called on behalf of Dr. Nguyen to terminate my dental services!!
Pros: NONE
Cons: UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE

I would like to commend this staff on their professionalism and I would recommend Dr. Nguyen and his staff to anyone that is thinking about maintaining good oral hygiene. I would also recommend the "soft tissue" laser surgery to anyone that is thinking about periodontal procedures. "No Pain, No discomfort". What a breakthrough. Scott Winski
Pros: Very Friendly, Professional, No-pain
