helpful staff
by WestSusan
I stopped by a few months ago to scope out a new place to go with my boyfriend. We were looking for a spot to meet friends for a glass of wine after dinneer. Very cute and cozy spot. Only drawback is that it doesn't stay open very late, but the lady behind the counter was very helpful in guiding me to a new wine bar opened up by a former employee or manager that would fit the bill. I thought it was really nice that she recommended a competitor! The other place was vintopia or vintropolis or something like that. I searched this site for it, but couldn't find any info. Anyway, we like Vino 100 and recommend it!
- Pros: helpful staff - cozy atmosphere
- Cons: closes too early
Not bad, but not great
by Alaina21
Vino 100 isn't a bad place to go for a drink, but it doesn't have much of an atmosphere. On the up side, the wine selection is decent and you can order food from PF Changs. However, the place is small the seating is limited, and it kind of feels like you're sitting in the middle of a wine store.

In Short
This Pennsylvania-based chain boasts 100 wines, champagnes and cognacs priced under $25 and grouped according to flavor and body. A handful of small tables and stools allow patrons to linger at the wine bar and enjoy the relaxed, pretense-free atmosphere.
This is not right

First, I would like to say that I had absolutely amazing experience at vino 100. This place is beautiful and the service is excellent!
On my way to vino 100, I stopped at the other wine bar in the area "Vinotropolis" and was surprised by all of the negative comments about vino100, made by the owner in this place. Vinotropollis is a nice place but the fact that someone is willing to go this far, shocked me! These comments were unnecessary and I will NEVER return to this place!

My boyfriend and 2 other couples decided to try Vino 100 and the best time EVER! Great wine, great service and we had a blast. We will be back and can't wait to take our parents when the come into town, they love wine and will love this place!
- Pros: Wine, Service, Fun
Inexpensive wines & friendly service in laid-back atmostphere
by shinobi
I went here w/ a group of friends Friday night & we had a great time. It wasn't what I expected, a crowded late night bar. It's a chill boutique wine bar that boasts 100 wines under $25. I think they have weekly specials. For example, last week was cab week where you could get 3 glasses of selected cabs for $10. You can also order-in food from nearby restaurants. The staff is also very friendly & helpful.
- Pros: inexpensive wines, friendly service, laid-back atmosphere
Wine Knowledge!! Wine Knowledge!! Wine Knowledge!!
by thewinelady
This place has really changed from the first time I visited 2 years ago - not my last visit obviously as I love wine!! It has more of a wine bar atmosphere than the former retail look, but wow the biggest change is in Management.
The new General Manager Christopher Lawrence Barrett is a walking, talking, wine encyclopedia. The wine selection has become more eclectic, boutique, and quite wonderful. I now buy all my retail wine there as well as enjoying the atmosphere and wine-speak going on in the bar area. Did I mention the cheese - supporting local entreprenuers The Dairy Maids Mr. Chris hand selects a boutique cheese assortment to compliment his boutique wines. If you crave fine wines, cheeses, and extraordinary wine knowledge to tap into - this is your place. Go ahead ask, ask, ask, - I did and have been rewarded with some of the best wine finds and information around because have you noticed - just about everyone is opening wine bars these days with or without the expertise so.....Cheers Vino 100 (Westheimer location) you have raised the bar!!
- Pros: Location: quiet area, Wine Expert on Staff is unbelievable, sidewalk tables, eclectic wine
- Cons: Not Open Late Enough - Wine Expert had days off - Silly Man!!
Great Wine Bar
by lynn_fontaine
I'm not one to write reviews, but I had to put in a good word for this great establishment. I have frequented the bar on several occasions with friends and out-of-town guests. During all of my visits I always found the staff members to be helpful and friendly, the wine selection outstanding, the prices extremely reasonable and the cheese plates delicious! And, the wine tasting event I attended (I believe they have these on a regular basis) was informative and fun!
- Pros: Unique and Affordable Wine Selection, Great Service
Best Wine Bar In Town!!!
by eddiemosco
I have been here several times and am quickly becoming a regular. The wines are very reasonably priced and many are rare and hard to find in other places. The new manager is great, he has updated the interior nicely and brought in some amazing wine. The staff has been fun, friendly, and attentive. The new cheese plates are excellent, bravo on the truffle cheese! I love this wine bar and will be back with friends and family!
- Pros: Great ambience, fun staff, great wines.

Response from this business

I am the General Manager, and I was well aware of what was a miscommunication. Our employee thought she had been hung up on after several long moments of silence, or thought the phone cut out. It was not her intent to misconvey any hostility at all. Perhaps because of our employee's accent it was difficult to understand her well over the phone, but I assure you that she is a dedicated employee and has a large gathering of regulars. I am upset that you never called or e-mailed to handle this situation before posting a biased review on citysearch. If you would like to discuss this matter further, then please call or e-mail me, the info is on our website www.vino100houston.com. And by the way, EVERYBODY, including regulars have to pay the corkage fees for in house consumption, no exceptions. I am sorry you felt put out by this, but if we did not charge corkage for large groups, we would not be in business long. Our corkage is the lowest in town. (Cova charges $10)
