Wow. Excellent Food. We had the veggie wraps and the sweet potato fries. It was a tough choice because everything on the menu looked so good.

The food was awesome! Our waiter was fantastic. The dining area was well decorated and comfortable.

I love this place.

they have some of the best dishes ever. we had a mezza salad with a to die for homemade salad dressing. we dove into a pick three of hummus, red pepper dip and fatouch(sorry about the spelling) that was all so fresh tasting, it was simply wonderful. their wine selection was to die for as well and their house red was fantaboulous!! and if that wasn't enough, for dessert we had their revamped version of tres lesches cake, OMG!! talk about scrumptous. they added a little something different and the toasted coconut on top just hooked us for life. we heard of cafe mezza from friends in austin and they were right to suggest it. give it a try. our wait staff was more than genuine and timely.

Average!!

Very friendly service; however, they weren't very organized. I waited an hour for my Fried Calamari - I reminded several wait sttafs several times. I finally got it two minutes later.

The food is pretty good. The chicken platter was alright. Anything the rib eye platter was good ? the Strawberry Cream was just alright.

Overall a good place but service still needs some work. I'll give it another shot.

Consistently good food

We have eaten here a bunch of times and every time it has been great. The service is good and for awhile one of the waitresses recognized us.

We usually order the blackened fish sandwich- which is amazing! For dessert we order either their bread pudding or carrot cake. They serve them with two difference sauces so you can fix it up however you would like. Both are always moist and yummy. I have also ordered some of their dinner meals I had a shrimp and fish one with a lemon butter sauce and it was excellent. They have tons of options - even a good selection of vegetarian items. They have a decent selection of side items to order when you get a sandwich(potato salad, fruit salad with a poppy seed dressing, sweet potato fries) - not just chips.

The service has always been good and the food is ready fast. They have some really good pita chips that they put on the table to eat while you're waiting. The decor is good. They have local artists' works on the wall for sale and they change occasionally. The artwork offers something to talk about at your table. There are TVs on - usually on the news or a big game that is on. Don't expect fancy, but it is nice, neat, and clean.

This is one of our go to places as we can always depend on Cafe Mezza for a good meal.

Expansive menu

My family enjoyed dinner at Cafe Mezza tonight. What a great menu! There was something for everyone -- even my picky son (who enjoyed a burger with wonderful sweet potato fries on the side for something different -- fabulous). Shrimp tacos, great variety of sandwiches, fabulous salads, generous servings of soup (a "cup" is a small bowl and a "bowl" is an enormous bowl), pasta dishes, shish kabobs, grilled chicken, fish and more. We *really* enjoyed the hummus appetizer. Delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Setting is casual and cozy. Outside seating available with ceiling fans overhead. A great new find!

• Cons: Restaurant was comfortable, but lighting was very low - tough for older eyes to read the menu!

Consistently Great!

Friends and I have been 5 or 6 times now, and have just been more impressed with each visit. My daughter and I go once or twice a week for lunch. The salads may just be the best in town. Yesterday, I noticed the "Sides" menu and went with the Wild Rice Risotto and Grilled Vegetables. The risotto was so perfect, mushrooms galore. My daughter's Salmon Salad was perfection on a plate. We have never been disappointed here by the food, service or surroundings. It is also very family friendly, without interrupting the other diners. They also do chicken and veggies perfectly. On my first visit I was with a group and we did appetizers to dessert. Since the portions are so generous, my daughter and I usually just stick with one dish each and share. But the appetizers and desserts are equally delicious.

• Cons: Parking may require a tiny wait, but has never been a problem for me.

My favorite restaurant in Houston

I'm so happy to have found this place! Everything i've had from here has been DELICIOUS!! I love the lemon butter chicken, hummus, baba ganoush, kebabs, lamp chops, pepper chicken pasta..... I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, the servers are attentive, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!!!
